Summary: Intelligent and Absorbing
Review: Ignore the hype, and evaluate Neuromancer based on what it is- a well written and amazingly original work. You can't help but be absorbed by Gibson's vision- it's prophetic nature and easy accessability makes it a book that can be read at many levels with great satisfaction. The characters are well realized and well written. This book belongs in every library- it will be LONG remembered as a landmark.

Summary: A good story poorly written
Review: The plotline itself wasn't bad. However I found the book difficult to get through. The characters seemed rather 2 dimentional and unrealistic to me. So I didn't find myself caring what happened to any of them.

A decent read if you are 12-15 years old, provided you don't take a lesson from the grammar.

Summary: Science Fiction meets Jazz
Review: I know it's been reviewed to death, but I have to agree, this book is incredible. Prophesizing aside, I love his style, the textured descriptions and lyric prose.

I love to re-read this to Steely Dan. I guess it's appropriate since both artists were influenced by William S. Burroughs.

Summary: So why are we so fascinated with computers?
Review: Gibson writes and incredbile book with interesting characters and great plot. His dark view of the world and the near future appear all too real. His subplots could all be developed into stories (or novels) of their own (are you reading this Mr. Gibson?) I have just read this book for about the third time and learn something new each time. A great read.

Summary: Whoa....
Review: I can't believe how much I love this book... I know it has been beat to death, but Gibson is a genius... He throws away the rosy views of a utopian future and presents a more realistic view.

In the past 7 or 8 years I have definately read this book 5-6 times... And I plan on reading it again and again....

Summary: William Gibson's First Book, The Father Of Cyber Punk
Review: Neuromancer is the book which can almost be concidered the father of cyber punk. This book depicts a world much like our present, almost a decade and a half ago. This book was written in 1984, now lets think back to 1984, the state of the art computer was the Macintosh, UNIX is used by only major businesses, and government & universities use the internet. Now to depict present technologies that long ago, to me is amazing. I recomend this book not only to science fiction lovers, but also to those who enjoy Orwellian literatue.

Summary: Wow. Wow. Wow.
Review: This is the best book by the second best science-fiction author ever. It is absorbing, perfectly paced and overflowing with Gibson's beautifully detailed style. This is the book that hit the world over the head with Cyberspace et al, and inspired the RPG Shadowrun, and all of the rest of the genre. I would recommend this book, and also that you use Amazon. This book costs about $10 in the U.K., so I fell off my chair when I read the price here. I love this book more than my girlfriend. Read it.

Summary: A Sci-Fi Literary Treasure!
Review: In short, NEUROMANCER is an awe-inspiring masterpiece. It is basically a conlict between a cool calculating AI and the best cyberjockey around. All in all the 2001 of cyberspace.
