Summary: Better than the movie.
Review: This book has made me a huge Chuck Palahniuk fan. I haven't seeen writing that catches your attention and makes you read so fluidly. I'm 17 and I have never read a book in one day except for Goosebumbs and that was a long time ago. I read this book in one night because I just couldn't put it down. When I was done reading I couldn't stop thinking about it and now I have a whole new view of the world around me. This is a must read.

Summary: A great read, a whole new way of thinking
Review: I cannot say enough about this novel. I read it because I saw the movie, but the book is much better. This will introduce you into a whole new way of thinking and perhaps change some of your daily habits.

It does a great job of showing the characters life and why he has to do what he has to do. I won't ruin it, incase you have yet to see the movie or read the book. Definitely read this if you have seen the movie. The thing that caught me most was Palahniuk's descriptions. His writing is superb, if dark. A must read.

Summary: A Walk on the Dark Side
Review: This book is amazing...if nothing else for its ability to stimulate and disturb you line after line. As the narrator descends into madness, he rages against the consumer culture of the modern world so beautifully, that you will find yourself actually wanting to join him in his crusade for its destruction. If nothing else, this book will make you think before you buy into all of those sly advertisements that bombard us daily...and make you shudder...wondering if someone like the narrator might be out there right now...plotting, enlisting, and preparing for a brave new world.

Summary: Fight Club
Review: I loved the twists and turns of the movie, "Fight Club". It has become one of the cult classic movies of our generation. When I learned that it was taken from a book, I had to buy the book. From the first page, I was immediately sucked into the story, even knowing what was to happen after seeing the movie. I stayed up until 4 in the morning to finish reading it! I was not dissappointed and was pleased to discover little idiosyncrasies that the movie could not portray accurately. From the detailed information of "Tyler Durden's" night jobs to the initiation rites of the Space Monkeys, this book was captivating! I have even passed it along to several of my friends to read. The screenplay was great and very well adapted from the book, but yet again, the book is better than the movie.

Summary: Stunning
Review: This was the best novel I've read all year. It wass shocking, cryptic, different, and most importantly, thought provoking. I haven't seen the movie, but if it is half as good as the book, I'm sure it will be worth it. The book was ambiguous at parts, and sometimes confusing, but it all came together at the end of the story, and everything added up. I would reccommend this book to anyone.

Summary: An unusual twist!
Review: Chuck Palahnuik may very well be one of the great writers of unconventional novel, as evident in the plot and the twists and turns of Fight Club. Who would have thought that being imprisoned in a world where man becomes a slave to material possessions, albeit subconsciously, would eventually take its toll in a delusional way? Great novel and a great movie too!

Summary: Fight Club
Review: The title of this book is Fight club. It is by Chuck Palahniuk.
This book is a Fiction/adult-action.
The main character (His name is never mentioned, because you are not your name)leads an average but boring life and is craving something more. As he flies from city to city he meets all sorts of people until he meets an interesting individual named Tyler Durdan who introduces a way of life new and unusual to the main character. As the main character looses everything and needs someone he is left with nothing but to call Tyler and live with him, this sounds simple enough but Tyler drags him into the world as Tyler sees it.
In my life as a reader i have never read anything even close to Fight club. This book really stood out to me because of the mature nature and situations of the book. This book made me think more than another book ever has.
Personally this is my favorite book because it makes you think about what you believe and how you are living. One of the repeated sentences in the book that stood out to me was "That old saying, about how you always kill the things you love, well, it works both ways." This quote can be found on page 184. I enjoy the authors style and message that it is not until we have lost everything, that we can truly be free. I extremely like everything Tyler says, does, and is about. His ideas of doing what you want to do not what society or your parents tell you to do amaze me.
Even though I loved the book I agree it isnt for everyone. For one, I don't think this book is appropriate for younger readers. I don't think this would be a good book for people who can't imagine that there are other beliefs besides theirs. I think people looking for answers in their own life should read this book. It really makes you think!

Summary: Book is Better
Review: I don't know, the movie is pretty good, but it is sort of weird compared to the book. Although it does take much less time to watch!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: You must read this book. NOW!!!
Review: If there is one thing to say it is this: Not only should you read Fight Club, but you should also read Chuck Palahniuk's other books. These books are Choke, Survivor, and Invisible Monsters(As of this date: (...).
If you have just seen the film, you should still read this book. The film and the book differ a lot in some places. HowEver, on the other hand, some parts of the film and the movie are almost exactly the same.
But this is not about the movie. This is about the book. Read it. Read it now. Don't hesitate. Add it to your shopping cart. Do something. Just read.

Summary: I am Joe's Five Star Rave Review...
Review: speaks to me totally about what i've always known. that america has become a country of wage slaves bought into the media hype. that you are defined by what you own and what you look like and not what's in your head and heart and that the status quo is god. the writing is as hot as a blowtorch and i found myself engrossed in the book. tyler durden is too smart, too funny, and too wild to be real.this book is part bible, part anarchist cookbook. it will effectively shatter anyone's rose colored glasses.

some of my favorite lines :

" you are not a beautiful snowflake. "
" the first rule of fightclub. do not talk about fight club. "
" only when you have lost everything, are you free to do anything."
" I know this because tyler knows this. "
" when the body goes limp, the fight is over."
" you are not your job. "

the perfume scene in the book is wicked.admit it: most of us at one time or another have detested the rich and thought of them as snotty imbeciles. wouldn't that be a good way to get back at them ?

the main point that the author makes in the book is that men in america are no longer "men." they have allowed society and the media to castrate their sense of self worth.fight club mocks the media and the dangers of a consumer-obsessed culture. this book is gold.it should be read by free thinkers everywhere.
