Summary: Amazing mindbending ability!Adam's spins out of control.
Review: This is an amazing collection. Doug pulls the mind of the reader, and all those with any connection to the reader, into his twisted analogy of the universe. The world has vanished, people are now represented by only two, a self-confusible man in his bathrobe and a strong-willed woman who dates two-headed rulers with no real purpose. The overall content of the collection seems to be that of a man on speed with a dab of crack thrown into the batch. A strangely based book of criticism, narcicism, racism, and a little sex, this will surely be a good buy for any who love to explore the unexplainable and unthought of, not for the first-timer to warped mentality or thin stomach lining. Adam's has a way of causing the mind to know exactly what he will say next, talk you into believing it, and write you dissertation on it, then upheave some jumble of incoherent ranting that makes sense only if you want it to yet at the same time would be the only logical answer on a multiple choice quiz. This is not a good review but I hope I have shown that this book is not for people who like to read but for people who like to think. Read it, talk about it, indoctrinate it, and send it to your friends. Laughing all the while, I have read the book two and a half times and am still discovering unusual twist after another.

Summary: The best book ever in the history of Science fiction
Review: With a laugh a page I have read this book over 5 times, in a month. This book got me hooked on science fiction. Some of my friends who hate sci-fi loved this book.

Summary: This is book is GREAT!!
Review: If you like Douglas Adams, you should buy this!! It has the "Hitchhiker Trilogy" and a bonus story: Young Zaphod. The book itself holds up very nicely. I would greatly reccomend this book!!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: A literary masterpiece of improbable proportions!
Review: This definitive Guide sets the record firmly crooked on the history of the increasingly inaccurately named Hitchhiker's Trilogy. Adams weaves together all five books of the Hitchhikers trilogy into an infinite universe of words and images that are not forgotten. This book should have the words "don't panic" printed on it in large friendly letters.

Summary: Astonishing!
Review: This is the book that will never leave your hands. You'll be wanting to re-read it on any chance you've got! Douglas Adams's unique choice of words make it so good... Hey, who knows? Maybe someday this phrase might pass as a slang between hitchhikers-"Hey,you sass that hoopy (whatever your name is)There's a frood who really knows where his towel is"

Summary: Nothing to recommend it.
Review: With the fourth part included in it, there is absolutely no reason to recommend this compilation. Get the first three separately, otherwise it will ruin the whole experience.

Don't pay to read Douglas Adams laugh at your face.

Summary: how good is this book? i can't tell you; read it yourself
Review: it's quite telling that this book, unlike most here at amazon.com, averages five stars. in fact, in glancing through the list, i see only 3 people not bright enough to appreciate it. right lies with the many, eh?

well, actually, it's my favorite piece of modern comic fiction/philosophy. it's thought-provoking and symbolic, and fun to read.

the first time i read it, i loved it for it's words, even though i didn't understand most of it. now that a world of experience allows me to identify with arthur, marvin, fenchurch, and the others, i love it all the more.

do yourself a favor and pick this up. this edition is pretty cheap, and it won't even take long to read, and you won't regret it.

Summary: Your'e a jerk, a real kneebiter
Review: Douglas Adams words flow on to the page in a comically vindictive manner. I recommend this book to anyone who needs a good laugh.
