Summary: I've read it 3 times , make your own conclusions
Review: it is great , it simply has all round depth . Sure it has flaws , but for it stagnating , being unoriginal or simply being boring thats a load of **** . Firstly this is one of the oldest fantasy-fiction series of its type , its descriptions are vivid and yes detailed , but how could u be transported into this other world if he said "theres these dwarf dudes and there walking like through these big trees , like whoa ... oh and the elf dudes with there celtic like origins and stature , whoa r they groovy "

tolkien is the bollucks and is rightly one of the most prominent writers of our century . What an imagination , I think he's unparalleled as a fiction writerand so does the rest of the world .

so if you've read it , read it again , and if u haven't then don't , you'll never enjoy another book again !

Summary: Wondrous
Review: I read the series for the first time <in high school> and was enraptured with the storyline from the very beginning. The other day I picked it up again and not surprisingly found it more delightful this time around. Tolkien, founder of the fantasy realm, weaves a gorgeous story. He has reminded us of the important things, having raised them to a position of great honor, and breathed new life into them. He is the original writer of fantasy adventures; the rest are mere replicas of his genius.

Summary: The most fanastic series ever!
Review: I will be starting 7th grade and I have already read this series twice. It is amazing how Tolkien can create a world so grand and yet at times, so dark. I bet we have all daydreamed we were in this world. A fantastic buy!!!!

Summary: The best fantasy series ever!!!
Review: Tolkein creates a magical world where anything and everything can happen. Whenever I need a vacation, but can't leave, I just start reading these books. I would recommend them to all fantasy lovers.

Summary: The Most Engrossing And Entertaining Book Series Ever!!!
Review: This is a fantastic trilogy. Anyone who likes myths, epics, or adventure would love this. It has everything from waning hope. To pride and malice and bizzare twists of fate. However, because of the many languages in them I would suggest reading the appendix at the end of book 3 entitled "The Languages and Peoples of Middle Earth" first. And certainly read the prolouge at the beggining of book 1. Skip that and you miss a main branch of knowledge dealing with Hobbitts.

Summary: There are no words
Review: I read these books in 6 grade. im in 10 grade now and i still cant get enough of them!! These books hed me wishing i was the caracters! i sometimes even daydream that i live in middle earth and get to go on adventures with Gandalf and the others. I know that sounds a bit strange but thats the effect these books have had on me! I think anyone who likes magic and mystery and rooting for the under-dog will like these. Just sit through the trilogy... trust me! Have i ever lied to you before?

Summary: The Best!
Review: The trilogy is one of the great masterpieces of writing. I am sickened by reviews by people saying that LOTR is just a bunch of recycled stuff. I hate to break it to them, but LOTR was written way before many of the fantasy series around today.

Summary: An indispensable classic
Review: This is the deepest, most enchanting fantasy you will ever read. Rich with memorable characters, wonderful scenery and excitement. The prose is much more beautiful and crafted than any other fantasy books I've read, especially in the later battle scenes. Buy it now!

Summary: What can I say? Nothing but brilliance.
Review: For those of you who have not read The Lord of the Rings, please make sure you do before leaving this earth! It is the one thing in life that is a must.

The scenes - so vivid. The characters - so alive. The enemy - so lethal. Would that I were Frodo, travelling to Mordor to free Middle-Earth from the black tyranny of Sauron.

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: Good
Review: I've read these books and I recommend this book to those who has patience. The books start off boring but get better and then get boring again. I think it would be better if the author didn't spend so much time on the details. These part are the parts you have to try to get through. There are so much description it gets boring but the author has his way of putting the excitment back into the storyline as you read on.
