Summary: Well, now..
Review: ...I'm sorry I have to give only 3 stars but the old-fashioned grammar and huge long formal challenges and puny descriptions of battles put me off. I like the Hobbit much better than the trilogy. The story had a dreamy quality to it that almost made me fall asleep as I read it. I did like the books, I really did, but you have to really sift through the words(and *%#$^ old-fashioned style!) to understand these books. Other than, that, great read. Just read it when you're at least 10. I read The Fellowship of the Ring at 9 and the Hobbit at 8 and I almost threw down the books in favor of my old Dragonlance books. And I am not kidding, my brother gave me The Hobbit to read so I would stop pestering him. I'm glad he did.

Summary: The ultimate good and evil series.
Review: Never before has an author so fantastically portrayed the battles between good and evil. The Lord of the Rings trilogy demonstrates the age old struggle of power between the good and the bad in an adventurous, soul-stirring manner. This series is amazingly comprehensive and addictive. By far the best fantasy ever written.

Summary: the hobbit is a good book even if you don't like to read
Review: I am a 12 year old student who hates reading. I am starting to read a lot now after my friend told me about the Hobbit. J.R.R. Tolkien is a great author and really knows his way to write a fantasy book without really being boring. That's how I started reading books a lot and I am about to order some of his other great pieces of work right now.

Summary: Brilliantly written books that capture you immediately.
Review: The Lord of the Rings is a thrilling series of adventure and excitement mingled with the values of Christianity. It dives into the depths of fantasy, flying away with your imagination and thrusting you into an engulfing story. Taking place in a fairy tale land were elves, hobbits, orcs, big people, trolls, talking animals and the evil lord of the rings exist. The excelling writings of Tolkien grip you and bear you by the wings of eagles over a breath taking journey of the chosen nine. Through mysterious evils and wonderous beauties, unexpected friends and deep betrails, in a place where the only hope is in a hopeless task. The trinket of a hobbit comes forthe to play a master role in the war, for one side it will be victory for the other utter and total defeat. In this story Gandalf plays the part of the wise guide, Strider the part of a weary Ranger. Boromir the proud prince, Eowyn the fierce warrior maiden. Frodo and are Sam the hobbits with the folly filled errand which holds the only hope of victory. The nine dark riders, deadly slaves of the dark lord.Elrond and Glorfindal present the wisdom of elves. Finally, the lord of the rings who will stop at nothing to capture the ring; and then dominate all of middle earth. If you are looking for a book to read, I would say this is definately the one. I applaud the late J.R.R. Tolkien for his masterful work in this trilogy. Undeniably, The Lord of the Rings is one of the best works of the centuries.
