Summary: THE book
Review: the world is devided in those who have and those who have not read the Lord of the Rings. To me it is absolutely THE book, I read it every three years or so. Uptill now in Dutch, German and English.I must say it has been very well translated and the atmosphere as well as the poetry is there in all languages. I admire Tolkien enormously for his amount of fantasy.It's like being a child again, a fairy tail for grown-ups and much more. Awesome. I happen to be looking for a french edition, could it perhaps be found on the net?

Review: Isn't it amazing how small little creatures can acomplish such big events? I absolutely love The Hobbit! It's almost like just reading the book you are in their world- Hobbiton. Bilbo Baggins gets into an adventure of a lifetime. Battling Smaug the dragon, and trying to overcome the power of the ring. I think you'll love this book. JRR Tolkien wrote an extremely adventurous series about the quiet little creatures- Hobbits and how they get themselves started in a miraculous adventure.

Review: The Hobbit kept me on the edge of my seat. I couldn't put it down. In a total of 3 days I experienced the most awesome book I have ever read! The best Fanasty book ever!

Summary: The most beautiful engrossing fantasy ever written
Review: I have no words to exress the impact this book has had in my life. I first recieved the books from my older brother after the whole family read them and they showed me what true literature is. After I read them everything else appeared like trash. 8 times each has not sufficed to take in everything in them and I look forward to reading the set dozens of times in the future.

Review: One man to write them all, one man to make them, one man to bring them all and in the middle earth find them.These are awesome books. I will not say they are the best, for different people have different opinions, and I respect them, but I must say this. To me, a fantasy fan, Lord of the Ring is the most original, most describtive series I have ever reas. The battle between the good and the evil are as impressive as the armegeddon, only to fit the immense universe Tolkien creates. He made a world, not a novel. He wrote a history, not a fairy tale. He created a legend, not a story. My feeble knowledge cannot help me to describe the feeling I had when I was reading them. Even now, Lord of the Ring makes me tremble when I think about its world, its characters, the heroic acts within, and its plot. Many people give either one star or five star. Needless to speak for those who give five stars or more, those who give one star have similar reasons. Too slow. They say it is like a comic book without pictures. However, how many authors can write a book which you can SEE the scenes in front of you? I must say not many. Most fantasy stories require the readers to use their imaginations to recreate the world, yet tTolkien's writings MAKE the scenes to appear without our imagination. What kind of talent does a man need, to make readers feel the world with all five senses? Tolkien's. I have done many regretable things in my life, but reading this series is definitly not one of them. In fact, it is one of the many correct decisions I made to read them.

Summary: good book with adventure, fantasy, and a great storyline.
Review: I enjoyed this book as well as all the other four. this gives a great example of fantasy, and has one of the most complex story lines a book could have. To fully understand how overwhelmingly rich this story is, you HAVE to read all four. This book had me reading fast to see what happened to Gollum, and slowing down because I was to scared to read on through the mines.
