Summary: Quick Intro to Tolkien
Review: I have the boxed set of The Hobbit and the Lord of the Ringsand it is the best set of books I have ever read. They giveyou a fabulous story with many wonderful characters going on spectacular adventures to kill Smaug the dragon(Hobbit), and save Middle-Earth from the evil plans of Sauron(The Lord of the Rings). I have never read any more of Tolkien's works but plan to read many more in the future to learn much more about Middle-Earth, the exciting world of JRR Tolkien.

Summary: The Lord of the Rings is the best fantasy book(s) around
Review: This is the most well known books by Tolkien, although he has written a lot of books on Middle Earth, and his son has compiled many volumes as well. He creates believable plot lines, real characters, and a sense of reality that few authors can. He gives his books a believability that cannot help but amaze you. It is impossible to say after reading any of his books "That was a waste of time," as you do after reading bad fantasy. In fact, you will probably say "What happened after that?"

Summary: They don't come any better

Summary: Magnificent fantasy for all ages
Review: The last stand of a world in a lost time. The Lord of the Rings is the ultimate "getaway" read for young and old. This trilogy of books written so long ago is beautifully written by the ultimate wordsmith of our time; J.R.R. Tolkien. It will take you to places and introduce you to characters only found in dreams, and let you experience the epitiomy of evil personified only in nightmares. A true epic, where the Wizard Gandolf is Obi Wan Kinobi and the Dark Lord Sauron is "Darth Vadar"; only Lord of the Rings is the prototype of them all! I've read all of these books seven times and still enjoy every word. Get this set of books, get a pad to take notes, and get ready for the journey! Hank Isaacs Haylu@aol.com

Summary: Who is this masked man?????????????
Review: I wanted to first off comment on this upstart: spaceboy, who has given this work a 10. He's right, you know. Though I wouldn't say it is comparable to C.S. Lewis' space trilogy (apologies- he is a great man but come on?! the space trilogy=LOTR?!) But if you liked Tolkien, try his friends Lewis, Williams, MacDonald even, and perhaps H. Rider Haggard, et al....

Summary: The best books since the bible.
Review: J.R.R. Tolkien's The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings trilogy are simply the greatest books on the face of the planet. If you were to have only four books for the rest of your life, these would be the ones to choose. The storyline is like no other, the writing creates a sense of being there. These are the all-time best reads in the history of the written word. You know, besides the bible.

Summary: Warning before you start reading
Review: I went on my holiday with a stock of a books including The Lord Of The Rings ( well, it was a long holiday). It was the first book I read there and I thought, you know, that then comes next book, and then next and so. But I couldn't. Every book (with certain exceptions) I started to read after Tolkien's masterpiece seemed like pure crap. You can't read Tolkien and then a normal book. You must read it again and again. Other books maybe come months later

Summary: Epic Fantasy At Its All Time Best!
Review: J.R.R. Tolkien is not a master of fantasy, he is The Master of fantasy! The Lord of the Rings will keep you glued to your chair - you won't want to do anything else until you've read through to the last page! His style of writing makes you think Middle Earth actually exists and that you'd been there before! His characters are so realistic and indepth, you'd think you had met them! Words can't describe these powerful books! I know people who's lives have been changed (for the better I assure you) after reading these fantasy classics! A true masterpiece, not one to pass bye! The DragonLance Chronicles trilogy are the only books that can even begain to come close to Tolkien's mastery! I recommend you go and buy a copy of these books immediately so that you may experience one of the greatest literary achievements of all times (you should also read The Hobbit, the enchanting prelude to this classic fantasy series)
