Summary: The best fantasy series in the world!
Review: This is absolutely the best fantasy series in the world! J. R. R. Tolkien is an amazing author. Fantasy is my favorite genre of literature, and I absolutely loved these books! I'm not going to even begin to try and describe these books, because words simply can't do them justice. You will definitely not be disappointed!

Summary: Give Me A Break!
Review: HAHAHA. This book is a joke. All they ever talk about is food. Man this hobbit dude ain't no hero he is like a total pig. 1 of his super hero friends fight 20 goblins and they get hurt almost to the point of death but they are healed in an instant. No death at all. J.R.R. tolkein let all of his charachters get hurt but never died. He should have done daring escapes or gorey fights but no, they get healed every second by a plant that only grows in that part and they have enough luck to find it. A group of 12 can kill everybody in their path. It was probably like 200 people they killed but none of them got killed. Classic?

Summary: Fantastic - Tolkien created an entire genre
Review: Through this work, Tolkien created an entire genre single handedly. This work is of increadible imigination and style. The story itself is superb and the charecters are wonderful. Tolkien creates an entire world and populates it with wonderful and frightening creatures. These are books to get lost in and you are sad when you reach the end. After reading other fantasy stories for years before reading this, I realize that every other author was just a pale imitation of Tolkien. You simply must read these stories.

Summary: Magnificent story. Slow beginning, incredible ending!
Review: I can not rate whether this is the best piece of fiction ever written, or if it is close. But after reading it recently, and compared to the many books I have read, I must say that I have never been more engrossed in any story I have ever read.

The Hobbit: The Hobbit is written in a different fashion than LotR, being more concerned with the discovery of the main ring, than all the details of middle-earth and it's inhabitants. A great book by itself, and a must read before you start Lord of the Rings.

Lord of the Rings: The beginning of the story (LotR), may throw some readers off, because of the lack of action, and more of the words describe the fellowship's journeys from one point to another. However, by Book III (in The Two Towers), the battles begin, and you are soon glad to have made it that far in the book. By the third book (The Return of the King), you find it hard to put down the book, because the incredible war that is taking place, between good and evil. I'll stop there, because I do not wish to reveal the outcome of the War of the Ring, but it is well worth the read.

The War of the Ring is so captivating, I can not describe the feelings you get while reading it in action, and it's ending. No war I have yet read (in history and fiction), or seen on TV and in movies, compares to the War of the Ring.

The story also reveals how people forget their differences to fight against one common cause, as well as other various inights of wisdom revealed by Gandalf, other characters in the story, and the story itself.

Anyhow, some parts of the book can get dull, but don't give up on the story, because you will never know what a great story you have passed up. I am now going to begin reading other works by J.R.R. Tolkien.

Summary: The standard in fantasy/fiction!
Review: I was both fortunate and unfortunate to have been introduced to Tolkien when I was 14. Since than(I am now 29) I have read many fantasy books(Thomas Covenant, Cirle of Light, Sword of Shanara-excuse the spelling-and many more) along with other fiction. All fiction suffers by comparison. No other book totally engulfs you and transports you to a different world(middle earth) like the Lord of the Rings. You become Frodo(main character) as you read than you look at the clock and it's 4:00 am. I recently started Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time(for the second time) and I have high hopes but not too high. You must read Tolkien but beware. All other reads after Tolkien will suffer by comparison. Frodo Lives!

Summary: An undefeated work of art.
Review: Ever since I was a young child, I have loved to read. I've allways been searching for something new, something challenging. Then I found it. I had nothing to read and was dying of boredom when my mother suggested The Hobbit. I had heard nothing about it, so my opinion is completely unbiast. I began to read and was instantly wrapped up in the mystical romance of a totally new world to me, full of adventure and surprise. Tolkiens ability to start from scratch and gather his imagination to create a unique world still astounds me. Reading The Hobbit changed my perspective of literature comepletely. It inspired me to write. After reading The Hobbit, I was at a loss. I was almost certain that I would never be able to walk with the Hobbits in Middle Earth again. Than I discovered The Lord of the Rings. If The Hobbit got me interested in writing, The Lord of the Rings convinced me. I got to know all of Middle Earth and when I finished reading, I was torn apart, because this time, I really knew that I would never see Middle Earth again. Besides my personal experience with the book, I must say that The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings are absolutely perfect for anyone.

Summary: One word, one emotion WONDERFUL
Review: This book is one of the best books I have ever read, it is so deligting, so light yet so dark and heavy. It has many thoughts behind, and it made me think about the humanity and all of the holy things that we have forgotten long ago.. I pity myself, because of not reading this book at an earlier age.. I would certainly reccomend this book to anyone at any age with any type of liking about books..

Summary: A book worthy to read for years
Review:

Once you get "Lord of the Rings", take care that you start reading it when you have plenty of time. Once I started, I could not stop and was reading for 3 days abandoning all my other business. And this during exam period!

Tolkien creates the world which is so rich, realistic and attractive that you cannot wait to read more about it. The picture is so complete that you cannot take anything out without disturbing internal beauty of this world.

This book will give you a little sadness and a lot of joy, and leave you light, happy and merry, with the sure knowledge that however bad things can look, those are beauty and kindness that rule the world. And this is definitely not the book which you can read once and forget. I have read it 3 times already, always finding something new and good in it. I think, this is one of those rare cases when you can have a book for many years and it will be giving you joy and happiness every time you return to it.

Review: the best fantasy book that been ever published! (ask me,i'm afantasy fan)

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Absolutely the best fiction ever written!
Review: The Hobbit & The Fellowship of the Ring are incomparable! An epic tale of friendship, camaraderie and the trials and tribulations of good versus evil, it was destined to become a classic from the very moment it was published. I personally reread it every winter and during those long frozen months I am transported to Middle Earth and become part of the fantasy. From drinking ale at the Green Dragon to a poetry reading at Rivendell's Fire Room all the way to being scared silly in the Orc tunnels it's the best ride fiction can give and one I'll gladly take again and again! Thanks J.R.R.Tolkien you are the MASTER OF FANTASY and I for one am not only indebted to you but I cannot enough express my gratitude to you for giving us this gift!
