Summary: A True Masterpiece
Review: Simply put, The Lord Of The Rings is one of the greatest books I have ever read. I have read it in its entirety 4 separate times in my life and it still hasn't lost its genius. END

Summary: U GOTTA READ IT!
Review: OK, so you've read the reviews (all 5 stars of course) and you're thinking "yeah, they all say it's great, but what is great? like what's it about?" My answer: there is no "summary" for this book, no way to describe the amazing J.R.R. Tolkein. But I will try to give you a little fragment of an idea, just so you buy the book and love it like the rest of us. Ok, here goes... Imagine a world called Middle Earth, both like and unlike our world, both like and unlike a mythological world. And yet it is something you've never seen before, a new and amazing place. Now this world has a very long history, starting from its creation and going all the way to the present day. This history is even more detailed than the history of Earth, and the history in itself is an intriguing story. But there is more... In this world there lives a hobbit (a small creature that looks a little like a human but different too...hard to explain) who, for most of his life, spent his time in his home (a hole in the ground) blowing smoke rings and serving tea to guests. But one day the wizard Gandalf visits his home, and the hobbit's life changes. His adventures with a group of treasure-seeking dwarfs (whose history, by the way, is one of the most interesting in Middle Earth, besides the history of the elves) are told in The Hobbit. This book is good for everyone, even for kids. The charaters, places, and stories are amazing. And pay attention to details, especially a seemingly meaningless ring found in a cave. *HINT-HINT* Lord of the Rings...If you thought the Hobbit was good, this group of three books (it is NOT, however, a trilogy!) is like something not from this world. Middle Earth is like a place you can go to. It is so detailed you begin to believe in it all. There are many different peoples, cultures, languages (yes, you can learn Sindarin if you put your mind to it), histories, and events that are so varied and unique it is like reading about a real place. And I haven't gotten to the actual storyline yet! ! Remember the ring from the Hobbit? Such a small part of the book, and yet that is what the Lord of the Rings is all about! The storyline is complex and intriguing, and cannot be explained here. But in the end, it all comes back to the hobbits (in this case, it is Bilbo's nephew Frodo who is the hero). You will love this book. I guarantee it. You'll be hooked after the first sentence. So just read it, OK???

Summary: I love the book the Hobbit!
Review: In the Hobbit it is like you are in a universe with hard obsticals, bad enemys, and really cool friends! I am about 3/4 through The Fellowship of the Rings. It's a great book. J.R.R. Tolkien is my favorite author by far. They may be long but they're REALLY good.

Summary: This book rules
Review: I don't see how anyone could not like this book. That guy who said it just went on and on, well, that's part of the great thing about it. It has so much history, just like a story that actually happened. You can feel the depth. And for all you other people who want another book because you've already read Tolkien, try "The Deed of Paksenarrion" by Elizabeth Moon. Search it under this service, and you'll see all the titles of the trilogy. I loved that book, and I think that it's as good as "Lord of the Rings".

Summary: the only book that ever made me cry...wanna know why????
Review: this is the only book i have ever read that made me cry. do you want to know why it made me cry (i am referring to the mass market 4-in-1 book)???? i cried because i spent seventy dollars for this "classic" edition hearing how good this piece of crap was, so i was like, " hey, why not???" i struggled through the hobbit and the fellowship of the ring before i cried. another reason i cried was because THEY SUCKED!!!!!!!!!! i have read the sword of shannara by terry brooks and even though it followed the same plot, it was a billion times better than this piece of b.s.! I mean, what's up with those defunktitated songs?! bend the forks and break the plates! that's what bimbo (hahaha) bagginontolkienreaders hates! were all you LotR lovers brainwashed by him or something????? this was the worst book ever written!!!!! i mean, curious george goes to the zoo had more class than this book did!!!!

Summary: The book Lord Of The Rings is just fantastic.
Review: This was the first time I've read Lord Of The Rings. I had to read only the first volume for school but it was so good that I couldn't stop and I also read the two other volumes (and over two weeks there are examens, I hope I don't regret it (inpossible I think) :)

Summary: Greatest books from the greatest author
Review: These were the very first fantasybooks I read and since then I've read a whole deal of other good books but no one has ever gotten close to the class of these ones. Bilbo is one of the greatest characters presented which is the real strength in the Hobbit. In the Lord of the Rings Tolkien really creates an excitment which could make your head blow. BUY IT NOW!

Summary: Middle Earth is my idea of heaven!
Review: I consider it an honor to be allowed into the mind of a genius. JRR Tolkien has crafted a unique and wonderful tale that will outlast us all. I will always remember reading this for the first time at age fifteen and crying when it was over. A hell of a catharsis for a painful adolescense. Now, sixteen years later, I still walk with Sam and Frodo up the mountain of Gorgoroth or with Arwen in Imladris. Read this book-its time well spent.

Summary: A True Classic

Summary: The Lord of the Rings is the greatest
Review: My friend is the one who introduced me to "The Lord of the Rings" trilogy, and once I've started reading these books, I just can't put it down. I've been looking for J.R.R. Tolkien books since, but it's very hard to find in our local bookstores...thank God, I found it here.
