Rating: Summary: It's a novel about the posiblity in the human's mind Review: This novel not only shows a children adventure. Acctually Ende shows the inner being inside him, he shows how the power of the imagination, of the mind is greater than other things on the world. However, he shows too the problems of the existence of those worlds created in the human mind. We can see through this book how the people stops to think, to imaginate, to create, and loose all its memories, its feellings, its existence. This is a book for children and adults, but only an awake-mind could see the real message between its lines: the existence of our worlds depends only from us. There are cicles and ways to live, but only we can trace them.
Rating: Summary: A book with boring beginning, but no end. Review: I cannot honestly say that this book was very good. It took way too long to get the point, not enough action and surprise, plus, it's too magical. They're crossing the line. Over all, this book could have been written better.
Rating: Summary: A book for all people of all ages! Review: The Neverending Story is the most astonishing book I have ever read. It can be enjoyed by both the child and adult on intellectual and spiritual levels. Ende gives the reader a new perspective on reality and dreams. His message to readers, written on the AURYN reads "Do What You Wish" -- commands readers to achieve self-actualization, the highest of all of man's aspirations. Read this book for a new enlightenment!
Rating: Summary: For the Guy that wants to know the luck dragons name Review: If a person reads the book they are being general i know that i have read the book over 10 times it is great. THE NAME OF THE WHITE LUCK DRAGON IS...FALCOR. the book will make a person find their childhood again and most people need this if you want to email me go ahead. The book will definatly make a person think i bought the book right after i saw the movie for the first time...I think the book is better because you use your imagination not just your eyes.
Rating: Summary: A bold adventure for adults and children alike. Review: What I find most pitiful and grieveous about all the so-called fans of this remarkable story is the complete lack of ability to name the white luck dragon. It is most pretentious to rant and rave and critique this work when the 'fans' have absolutely no idea about the characters in this book about their bloody names!!!!! Picture this if you will: A person, a girl we'll say, has suddenly been overwhelmedwith an insatiable desire to find out the white luck dragon's name. It is late at night but she is resolute, she must know. This girl turns to the web and after numerous attempts and dead ends she stumbles across this site. What joy, what bliss, salvation through the aquisition of knowledge is here. It is not to be. All she reads is '... blah, blah, blah, the white luck dragon..." She is destined never to know. You people who say you love this book are a disgrace. It is through your pathetic half-attempts to capture this story that the essence of the story is lost. WHAT IS THE BLOODY DRAGONS'S NAME?
Rating: Summary: A delightful, classic read for anyone who has ever dreamed. Review: A wonderful mix of the magical and the mundane, to produce one of the best works of fantasy this century. One read is just not enough! With realistic and believable characters, Ende has crafted a masterful tale that is impossible to put down. Perfect for all ages, and all backgrounds. Regretably, Ende has passed on, and new works of his unique blend of fantasy and reality will never again grace our shelves. Everyone needs to read this, and rediscover the beauty of one's imagination.
Rating: Summary: A very visual story, truly opens your imagination Review: The whole time I was reading this book, I could see the setting, the desciptions come alive and the imagination is really set to work. It's a captivating plot and the characters are very realistic. I got very involved with the book, you know how you really want one character to do something? That's what this book did. It's also very good because the main character isn't always good. He, like everone else needs help sometimes. It's a very original and creative book, a must to read.
Rating: Summary: The Spark of an Imagination Review: Fly a fantasy! An inticing book where dreams face reality! The Neverending Story by Michael Ende did not feel like one of those dull neverending stories. Ever chapter brought a new enlightenment out into the story. As the book starts out, you are hiding in a musty bookstore afraid of whats outside. You are then opened into the world of Bastian Balthazaar Bux. His dreams and his fantasies soon turn into reality for him and you always feel as if you are part of the story too. Reading this book could spark anyone's imagination and is truly an inspiration to all those who read the story.
Rating: Summary: Comments on the new hardcover edition Review: Please note that, like the original edition, Dutton's new hardcover edition of The Neverending Story is printed in two colors and contains Roswitha Quadflieg's illustrated initial caps, along with other details faithful to Michael Ende's vision
Rating: Summary: The best book of all times! Review: After 10 years since I first read this book, I still find myself in Fantasia from time to time! This is a very special, intelligent and beautiful book which changes the readers' way of looking at life. Special, because it uncovers from the depths of your subconscious the hidden childhood fantasies that you thought were gone many years ago. Intelligent, because it takes you into a fantasy land full of metaphors and logic games. Beautiful, because the book itself, as well as its contents, is a work of art. You must get the hard copy for two-color print though, and believe me, it is worth the extra cost
