Rating: Summary: probably the best book ever written Review: I was given a copy of this book when the first movie came out. I was enthralled. I have read this book hundreds of times, for truly, when you read a book more than once...it changes every time. My copy was lost in a fire a few years back and I'm now replacing it...for I've found I can't live without it.
Rating: Summary: The most interesting book I've ever read!! Review: It took me one week to finish reading this book which is very starange considering I can read almost any book in less than three days. But this book was so enveloping I found myself reading over whole chapters just to make sure I completely digested every word. I had watched the movie when i was very young and now that I've read the book I have a new profound respect for the writers work.
Rating: Summary: You Have to read this!!!!!! Review: Look, I'm only eleven, I don't know much, but I know what I like. I scanned aaalllllllll the customer commenst for this book and the only person who didn't like it is from-wait for it-CALIFORNIA!!!! That's a surprise! okay, but maybe I'm being stereotypical, but but they would still be crazy if thay came from czeckoszavakia.(I'm not sure if I spelled that right.) Anyway, before I read this book, my favorite book in all the world was "the princess bride" I mean, it still is, tied with this one anyway. for forever I couldn't find a better book, And then I found this! I'ts a little slow for the first ten pages or so when the author describes how bastian is finding the book and all that, and he makes little intrusions about what bastian is doing until triple B (bastian balthazar bux-count 'em) Comes into Fantastica, but don't get me wrong, that part's real good to, but the real action is in the actual book, so if you hate books and you'd rather be out playing sports or whatnot, (you think I'm gonna say skip it, right? no!) Read it anyway, you'll be tottally confused if you don't. This book is especially good for bookworms like me, because it's one of those books that describes everything and lets you imagine what it looks like at the same time, and you also find yourself worrying about the characters and all that, and takes forever beacause ther's four hundred and forty five pages and the print is reeeeeeeeeealy tiny, which is a good thing, since, you find yourself never wanting it to end, and, (sob) it is, indeed, not never ending. All and all, I think people between ten and three hundred and ten would enjoy this book, and it's a great boost into the wide, wiiiiiide, world of bookdom, for all you people who LOATHE reading(I used to be one, now I need four bookcases!) So basically, if you've seen the movie and you hated it, that's fine to, since it left out almost EVERYTHING!!!!!! trust me, the book is waaaaaaaayyyyyyyy better!-sarah P.S.read the princess bride, to!
Rating: Summary: An Incredible Trip! Review: This is one of the best books ever written. It keeps you tumbling through a brilliantly described world that overwhelms you with its complete reality and lack thereof. there is nothing stnager or more wonderful than this book. I was literally out of breath when I finished reading parts of it. I will never get rid of my copy of this mind-bending book.
Rating: Summary: A wonderful novel. It's like a hallucination with a plot. Review: A young boy, Bastian Balthazar Bux, storms into a the shop of Mr. Correander, the keeper of mystical book bound in copper leather and surmonted by a serpentine emblam, and makes off with what will become the doorway to another world. In the Neverending story we see two worlds come together. The world of fantasy and the world of men. It is Bastian's quest to bring the world of fantasy and imagination back to his world, but first he must overcome his desire to blend into this dream world and fade away. With every passing wish Bastian's power in Fantasia increases but at a great cost - his memory. Only by denying his desire to overthrow the Childlike Empress, by mounting himself up as Lord of Fantasia, and by straining to keep hold of what memory he still has from his own world will Bastian reach the end of his great quest.
Rating: Summary: Enchantingly written!! Review: This wonderful book is a very deep story, full of wise lessons about courage, friendship, and love for both the reader and Bastian. This book shows that hope is a gift in life. It shares the same lessons about life and hope like the play The Raisin in the Sun. That without hope or goals, life would be a repeating circle. LIfe should be a straight neverending line, full of mystery and dreams for everyone.
Rating: Summary: The book with tons of twists and turns Review: I thought this book was well written. I couldn't put this book down for it made you realize so many things. the author made himself into a character, I thought. I read this book because it flowed with a steady pace, but never dull enough for me to put down. this is one author I would like to meet. I highly recommend this book.
Rating: Summary: A beautiful story! Review: I really enjoyed this book. It brought me closer to the characters thab any other book I have ever read. I feel that they will be a part of me forever. I look at the world differently, hopefully more open to others. Thank you, Mr.Ende.
Rating: Summary: fantastic Review: This book is so good I loved the movie and the book was even better. I'm 16 and i love it. If you have the oppertunity read this book and you'll reread it for years to come.
Rating: Summary: Pure Magic! Review: This book has the capability of capturing ANYBODY'S mind. It is a work of art, and can be enjoyed from ages 12 to 112. It has tales of adventure, magic (both evil and good), friendship, love, wisedom, and the gaining of wisedome. Everything that makes a fantasy story good is in this novel, and no one should go without reading it. The only thing that I wonder is if there was ever a sequal written for this book. There are so many other stories it branches off into. But they are other stories, that shall be told another time...
