Rating: Summary: BEST BOOK I HAVE EVER READ!!!!!!!!!!!! Review: I read The Mists of Avalon when I was twelve, and now I am thirteen and between then and now, I have read all of these books by MZB- The Forest House, Lady of Avalon, Exile's Song, The Fall of Atlantis, Witchlight, and a few more. I am LOVE her books (I am sort of a bookworm), and never can I put them down once I start reading one! The MISTS OF AVALON was the best book that I had ever read, I CAN'T GET OVER the plot and the whole "romance and adventure" thing! The bewitching Morgaine set the story, the daring Lancelot, and the betraying Arthur all add up to make this story the most loveable thing to read! I COULD NEVER PUT IT DOWN!!!!!!!!!!!
Rating: Summary: Fabulous! Review: I just finished this book and it ranks up there among my favorites ever. OK, if you are an Arthurian scholar you should skip this - it will annoy you. But if you're somewhat less erudite and just want to be captured by a stirring tale of the women surrounding the legend, you can do no better than this book. You will fall in love!
Rating: Summary: Fabulous Review: Simply the best retelling of King Arthur's tale I have ever read.
Rating: Summary: Too wonderful... Review: Mists was the first book I read from MZB. Needless to say I loved it. The edition I bought is separated in four different books and after I finished reading the first one I was so eager to find out what was going to happen next that I immediatly bought the next. Vivianne, Igraine, Morgaine... It seemed I felt all that they felt. When they were angry I was too, when they were sad so was I and when they fell in love so did I. When I finished reading it I felt an emptiness... I didn't want it to end. I wanted to go on sharing all those wonderful characters experiences.I could go on about it forever and still wouldn't do this wonderful book justice.
Rating: Summary: Can you fall in love with a book? Review: I read the Mists of Avalon for the first time when I was a teenager. I grieved for weeks when I finished it, it had touched me so deep. I still have that same copy. The cover is worn down, the spine is broken, coffe stains on the pages from late nights when I just couldn't put it down. When ever I go through a tough spell, I bring out my well loved book and read through it again. ( I now have a new copy waiting in the wings). Marion Zimmer Bradley did the literary world a great justice in writing this compelling story.
Rating: Summary: *tears* Review: I am just 50 pages away from the end of this fantastic novel. I love it so much. And like so many others, I started to read it a couple of times and always put it back down as boring. Not so. I decided to buy the blasted thing finally and proceed through the epic. Now that I am only 50 pages away from the ending, I am afraid of completing it! I haven't read it in 2 days because I know that I don't want it to end. One day, I will read the other 2 in the series, and I will end up re-reading this one as well. My hat's off to you, Ms. Bradley! (homeless man in Ann Arbor, Mi. U.S.A.)
Rating: Summary: This book will touch your inner spirit! Review: I have read "Mists" several times. It is truly moving. The goddess is alive and well!
Rating: Summary: GREAT! Review: I read many books - but not many stay with me like this one. I gave it away when I finished to someone I knew would like it - now I'm ordering another for a friend. With "Merlin" on TV, THIS is the book to read!!!!!!
Rating: Summary: "King Arthur" for all ages, men and women, any background. Review: At the age of 15 i read this book, a bit intimidated by the thick size and tiny print; I soon founf out I had nothing to fear. This book has turned out to be the best book I have EVER read. Some people like to think of it as a "feminist" writing, but I would call it a "humanist" one. It took me several months to read, but when it was over I felt a pang of greif, as the charachters I felt i had know for years had dissapeared from the pages. But now, years after I read that book, they are still with me. I will wish to visit the fabulous Camelot, and make that ever more difficult journey to Avalon. There is little I can say about this book other than the fact that it is the best I have readin my life. Morgan Le Fay lives!
Rating: Summary: Magical and Mysterious characters who we truly care for Review: I would recomend this book to anyone who can read. You end up caring for the characters so much that you cry if something bad happens to them, and I mean *cry*. In the same way, you rejoice the good and the book leaves you wanting more. I would suggest you read THE FOREST HOUSE, then LADY OF AVALON and then THE MYSTS OF AVALON. But if you are not sure if you'll like the books, start with this one. It is truly enchanting. My all time favorite book. It gave me a new look on life.
