Review: I ordered this set for my own birthday present to myself and finally got it in the mail during Christmas (way before my birthday). I am in love with it and loved it seeing it still in the box. It was totally worth getting and fragile due to its properties of composition. Meaning, I am taking good care of it and it is sitting on my bedroom dresser right now holding up stuff. Worth getting for any "rings fan." They'd love it! Get it before they stop making it or something. I own this and many LOTR merchandise. Hope this helped you in some way.

Review: The Editorial Review does not say much about the item, only that millions of readers enjoyed the great story the Lord of the Rings and "millions of filmgoers have embraced the blockbuster motion picture trilogy." But we all know that already.
So, I decided to describe each of the items in detail. Bookend sculptures are 6.5" H x 6" W x 5.25" D (One bookend) and weight around 8 lbs. The quality is amazing and the fans will be very pleased with this set. Gandalf and Bilbo look same as in the movie. The book is also very nice. This one volume hard cover edition has a beautiful jacket and high print quality which makes it easy to read.
Together, the book and sculptures make up a perfect gif to any Tolkien fan, a gift for your friend or yourself. And it is definitely worth the money because the book alone will cost around 30 dollars and bookend sculptures cost 60 on the Sideshow website. So, get this awesome gift set while you still can!

Summary: Great combination and even better deal
Review: There is LOTR the book and LOTR the movies. This wonderful set combines them both. As you probably know the movie production and design was done by WETA workshop and WETA digital. These bookends are produced by WETA workshop so you get a piece of movie memorable AND of course the books everything was based on. It is invaluable to have a hardcover one edition of the Three Books. It will stand the test of time better than any softcover. In fact I had the same edition as a paperback and it fell apart.The bookends are very nice. As someone mentioned they orginally sold for $60 by themselves and now you can get the whole set for $45. They are very substantial and have a lot of detail to them. Even though you have to strain to see Gandalf's face, they made it very detailed. I checked just to be sure...The Gandalf side also has what look like individually painted flowers and nice lush greenery. On the Bilbo side you have details all the way down to his hobbit feet and the books arranged near the door. This is truly one of the 'steals' you find every now and then on the Internet. I would suggest 'stealing' away with your own edition before they, like Bilbo putting on the ring, go poof and disappear.

Just the book ends sell for $60.00.
I had to buy 2 of them,one to open and,one to save for my children down the road.
I put my bookends up on the mantle with the extended versions of the movies in the middle, and it looks great!
The book and the bookendS look great and in great detail.
GET IT BEFORE THEY ARE GONE!!!!!!!!!

Review: This set is definitely worth the money. The hardback book, similar to the one released in July '03, sells here at Amazon for $26.60, so the cost of the bookends is about $26. Sideshow used to sell the bookends alone for $60! Get this while you can!
