Summary: The Most Wonderful Way to Share This Story with Kids
Review: The audio version of The Lord of the Rings, published by Soundelux, is the truest way to hear this story. My kids and I were thrilled with the wooden crate the cassettes are sold in. I had watched the movies based on J.R.R. Tolkien's books as a young girl and loved them. This recording is even better than the movies. It allows the listener to really become a part of the story. My children and I listened to the cassettes on a road trip/vacation this summer and they couldn't get enough! The music, voices and story itself mesmerized my two youngsters so greatly, they didn't want to get out of the car when we arrived at our day's destination. I was thrilled with this recording, which is artfully done, and recommend it to anyone who loves the original story.

Review: Tolkien might have been an extraordinary fantasy writer back in his time, but there are more and better fantasy writers now (ie. Margaret Weis, Tracy Hickman) that make his books seem dull and boring to read. That's why I can't understand why his books are so highly revered. Therefore, he receives two stars from me.

Review: This has to be my favorite book. But I have to admit, too much of Tolkien can be a bad thing. If you have a map of the shire or the leniage of Islidur hung up on your wall, get a life. If you're looking for a classic, read this book. Unlike most fantasy writers, tolkien has real characters. He has made an epic. Where you can tell between good and evil. Where the good are few, and Evil is numerous, but somehow the good wins and you get a hell of a story along the way. You don't have to enjoy fantasy to like this book. I sure don't.

Review: Lisez ce livre, il changera votre perception de la vie et du monde qui vous entoure!!! Je ne pense pas qu'un écrivain pourra, un jour, atteindre un tel niveau de perfection. L'histoire est superbe, le monde créé par Tolkien est immense et les personnages ont ce qu'on pourrait appeler une intelligence propre. FAREWELL and good reading.

Review: Tolkien, for me, is the best author in the world. It doesn't matter in which title we talk about, Tolkien gave life to his characters and made (even telling so much details) we, readers, never put the book aside. I read the three books in threee months, to show how wonderful the book is.
