Summary: Q: What could have ruined such an interesting premise.
Review: A: Thoughtless plagarism. And I don't mean each character which is obviously (or is that obliviously) ripped from the stereotypical world of today's TV teen. The loner, the politician's son, the nerd, the twin, and (of course) the supermodel? These characters have no more depth than these two word outlines. The plagarism I'm talking about is a paper thin retracing of a classic 1940Welles novel. Much of the novel dumps what I think is a promising premise for mindless character drivel. Instead of cleaver ideas, Marilyn Kaye has filled the book with cliches sponged out of a melodramatic mish-mash of failed romance and weak mystery novels. The plot can't stretch what few surprises it holds long enought for the characters to read like they are intelligent (or even capable) human beings. I can't tell you how many times I chided the characters for 'conveniently' forgetting about what they should know. Last On Earth is out of this world. Perhaps it should have stayed there.

Summary: The Best I've Read Yet
Review: I don't think I have read a book as good as this. I usually read books in a few weeks but i had this done in 3 days. I highly recommend it to anyone who likes sci-fi books.

Summary: Last on Earth
Review: I liked this book. It was interesting at some parts like when they went to the hair salon and they were going to do Tiffany's hair but they left it in too long and all of her hair fell out! There were also other parts that were not so good like when they locked Cam in his room and they took 5 pages to get him out. That part was boring. I would suggest this book to a older person becouse I had trouble understanding it in some parts.

Summary: This is the best triligy that I have ever read. There great.
Review: I read this whole triligy in 6 days, and I HATE to read. But with these books I just couldn't put them down. They were interesting and they kept me wondering the whole time. The people in these books are easy to relate to because they do the type of things that most of us would do in the same situation. It's almost every person's fanticy to be the last on earth and be able to have anything or do anything in the world. So in a way I got to live through this book. I mean, I told my friends at school about these books and 4 of them went to the store and bought the first book and now their asking me to barrow the other two. These books are really great.

Review: I thought this book was excellent! I'm not much of a science fiction reader, but this one caught my attention. I can't wait to read the other two!

Summary: WHAT REALLY GOES ON IN THE MINDS OF TEENAGERS?
Review: Last on earth is definitely one of the best sci-fi book series ever. It's very involving. The characters all have thier own unique personalities and really resemble actual 90's teens. Any teenager, like myself, with fall in love with these people, and once you finish the series, you'll wish there was more. I personally missed everyone of the characters. You know, it's like I knew them personally. Part 1 takes a little time to get into though. Namely about 4 or 5 chapters. Once the kids start to make the discoveries on what really happened, that's when things start to kick in. Another thing I really loved is the emotion behind the characters. Like the way the former unsociable jake fell in love with the model, Ashley. then there's Alex and Shalini. A russian tough ass and a shy, sweet indian girl. And how about Cameron, the computer wiz, aka, geek. Well that's until book 3 when you feel so happy for him after he's met the perfect girl. Any average teen would love this. Guys and Girls alike.

Summary: One of the best sci-fi there is.
Review: This series is really great, but I did not like the ending very well. It is very involved, and I think that the author has a very developed mind. She seems to be quite intelegent. You can't put the book down untill you get to the end.

Summary: A thrilling science fiction novel.
Review: Twenty five teenagers at an overcrowded New York City school have a basement classroom. One day, they emerge to find that everyone else in the city, and possibly the Earth, has vanished from site, leaving no clues as to where they could have gone. Now it's up to the teenagers to discover where everyone else has gone before the same fate befalls them. This was an edge-of-your seat science fiction thriller with a realistic view of what might happen if just a few teenagers and no one else was left on Earth. Unfortunatley, the last book in the series was a dissapointment.

Summary: An updated version of Lord of The Flies.
Review: What would you do if you were one of twenty-five Highschool seniors left on Earth after the rest of the population has diappeared? This book touches the question and more within its pages. As far as page turners go, this was rivetting. Last On Earth is an interesting mix of Lord of the Flies and a neo political thriller with just a dash of science fiction and and plenty of intersting characters. These seniors are thrust into a world where they are the adults and rules no longer apply. One senior has delusions of grandeur, hoping to turn the others in his community into his personal dictatorship. Others want to find out what actually happened to everyone else in the world. And then there are those that just want to party. Ms. Kaye is wonderful at giving an almost depressing sense of foreshadowing. This personally made me feel the desperation of the students in the community who could no longer follow the totalitarian laws being placed on them by an overly charismatic senior class president. And when they discover what caused the disappearances of everyone they knew and cared about, you might be surprised. Last On Earth is shaping up to be an interesting and thought provoking series and I can't wait until the December release of Book Two: The Convergence.
