Summary: Above the Stars!!
Review: This book was terrific! It really expressed the way a kid who is moving would feel. With its humorous perception of the future, tied to the life of a normal teen who goes through the same things as a teenager in the '90's, this book was literally out of this world!

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: A funny perception of the future!
Review: This book wasn't Paula Danzinger's best. She has written better. But this was also a funny way to look at what the future would be like for a teen. Aurora may have been just a bit self-centered but that only created a character. Nobody's perfect and she's one of the characters you're not sure about at first. Overall this book was interesting and funny if you're a teen like me. A rather settling read.

Summary: Futuristic;Yet I can relate to it.
Review: This is a great book. I've read it three times now. It tells about the troubles of moving, the anxiety of liking guys, and how to deal with family crises. I love its futuristic setting on the earth and on the moon. You'll learn something new each time you read This Place Has No Atmosphere.

Summary: A great book for any Teen!
Review: This place has no atmosphere, by Paula Danziger is a wonderful book for any teen! In every way, this book relates to nearly all of the every day problems that teens go through every day! As if being a teen in the year 2057 weren't difficult enough, her parents announce that the family is moving; a hard situation for any teenager, there's one catch, this family is moving to the moon! Aurora knows she will hate the moon, and doesn't TRY to like it, will she ever become adjusted to this strange place?

Summary: I liked this book a lot
Review: This story takes place in 2057. Aurora is part of the group called the "turnips." This group is the popular group. Her life was perfect. This 15 year old girl has everything every girl could want. She's popular, her boyfriend is considered "the cutest."

Then, her worst nightmare happened, her parents told her they were moving to the moon for five years. She was devastated. She had to leave this perfect life and go restart a new one. After all the emotions, she moved to the moon.

The moon was a totally different thing. All the people seemed strange to her. At least her and her sister Starr got closer than ever. For once in her life, she and her sister said "I love you."

Time went by and Aurora made new friends and even found a boyfriend. She thought he was dorky at first but later saw the sweetness on the inside. She had a chance to go back to earth a year after she left but she changed her mind because she didn't think the "turnips" would accept her because of how much she had changed.

I liked this book a lot. It made me wonder if life was going to be like that in the future. This book is great for teens because it shows conflict that everyday teenagers go through and shows how Aurora reacted to them.

Summary: Blast from the past...
Review: Whenever I think of the Thornton Wilder play "Our Town," I am reminded of Paula Danziger's book "This Place Has No Atmosphere." It was already a little dated in the mid-90s when I read it in middle school, but the characters rang true and I enjoyed it immensely. I don't remember the story itself so much as I remember that it was one of the first books that made me stop and think about new ideas every once in a while. How would people live on the moon? What does it mean to REALLY move away?

In short: if I remember this book after nearly ten years and hundreds of books in between, there's got to be something sepecial about it.
