Rating: Summary: I Want More Books Just Like This One! Review: Aurora lives in the late 2000's!She is not exactly over the Earth when her family goes to live on the Moon!!!!! An absolutely FUN novel with Danziger's interesting views of the future as written in the 1980's.Linda M's own thought; The book involved robots,or at leat one robot whose job is school monitor. In the 1980's that is waht people looked forward to,a beyond 2000 with robots.Funnily,I believe robots are now OUTDATED!In my honest opinion, they were a thing of the 80's and ,well, just aint cool anymore!!
Rating: Summary: What a futuristic philosophy! Review: Aurora Williams seems like a typical teen; she loves music, clothes and guys. When she finds out that she is to move to the moon, her high school dreams are shattered. But after living on the moon for several months, she realises the important thing in life; her family. I think that this book is excellent! Paula has done such a wonderful job of creating her own thought of the future and putting it to the test in words. I love reading futuristic books because it is fun to hear other peoples thoughts on the future. Great Job Paula!
Rating: Summary: A Lot Of Readers Seem To Miss The Point.. Review: Aurora Williams seems to have everything; she's a member of the 'in-group' at her school, she's best friends with a rich celebrity and best of all the cutest boy in school just asked her out. Teen heaven right? But Aurora isn't really happy. Her parents don't understand her, or she them, and she isn't really like the other kids in her group though she's good at acting like she is. In short Aurora is pretending to be somebody she's not in order to be accepted. What this book is really about is Aurora discovering who Aurora is and getting the courage to be herself. Along the way she learns hanging out and having boyfriends isn't all there is to life, that people she used to dismiss as 'barfburgers' might be worth knowing after all, and maybe her parents understand her better than she thought. She even learns to appreciate her kid sister! None of which would have happened if she hadn't been forced to move to the Moon.
Rating: Summary: One of the most interesting books I've ever read. Review: Bravo Paula Danzinger! She does a great job in describing two interesting topics:living on the moon and a teenage girl's life. The story is terrific. More realistic than some other of those sci-fi stories. I simply thought this book was well written and would recommend it to anyone who is in the mood for a great book. The characters and settings are terrific. Everyone who loves realistic fiction stories should try this.
Rating: Summary: It was such a shallow book!!! Review: How can Ms. Danziger expect any teenage girl to stomach this book? The main character was utterly shallow and throughout the book her thoughts are either on herself or a boy. Does Ms. Danziger know any teenage girls? This girl sounds more like a bubble head stereotype. It is the worst book she has ever written. Two thumbs down. Sorry I ever read it.
Rating: Summary: Futuristic;Yet I can relate to it. Review: I re-read this book after a ten-year break just to see if it was as great as I thought it was when it first came out. For the most part, it was still very enjoyable and well-written. However, I kept finding myself wishing for more of everything! I wanted to know more about the society, more about how Aurora's friends were coping without her on Earth, more about how life on the moon differs from terra firma, and more about the technology of the future. In a way, the absence of detailed description makes this book more timeless than if it had talked about innovations we have already surpassed. However, I think I would have liked to see more of it, even if it would have dated the book a bit. I wonder if Ms. Danziger has ever considered a sequel...

Rating: Summary: Great teen reading! Review: I read this book about a year ago for a book report and I loved it! This book is meant mainly for a teens and that's exactly what I am. This book discusses many teen issuses today such as moving; being popular; guys; and friends. It also takes place in a fun setting, the moon! Although this book takes place in the future I could still relate to many of Aurora's problems. I loved it and recommend it to anyone!
Rating: Summary: Memorable Review: I read this book when I was in Fourth grade, now I'm 23 and still remember how much I liked it. I must have read it a million times, but want to re-read it soon. I highly recommend this and all other Paula Danziger books.
Rating: Summary: The book was really "out of this world"! Review: I think This Place Has No Atmosphere was one of the most uniqe books I have ever read. It made me think about what life would be like in fifty or so years. It is the perfect book for kids like me who love space and science fiction, and can't wait to see what the future might bring.
