Summary: Brilliant!
Review: This book is one of the greatest of the Science-Fiction genre. I loved the way the culture so closely resembled human kind, yet how much they differed. This extremely intriguing venture into a complex society kept me reading through the last page.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Excellent
Review: This book had me terrified. One of the best reads ever. The portrayal of how people react in catostrophic situations and the resulting aftermath was fascinating and horrifying. Read this book.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Good, but not the best he's done
Review: Although a good book, the redundancy of the post-nightfall insanity is nearly unbearable. The interaction between the religionists and scientists was well done, but Asimov has done better.

Summary: best Asimov book i've read
Review: This was my first Asimov book I read, and it remains to this day my favorite. The suspense in the first half of the book was absolutely unbearable and the reconstruction at the end was very symbolic. Almost everything about the book was symbollic somehow. I haven't read the short story version, yet. It's probably pretty good also. This is a must read. It's not the usual SF drivel that has no emotion or passion. This is SF at its best.

Summary: Intriguing concept(life without darkness)-enjoyed book
Review: Instinctually felt uncomfortable at first with "light of suns day and night". Felt how people did not endure "NIGHTFALL" as writer had me convinced. Felt aftermath of NIGHTFALL was probably a good grasp on how things would have had to happen, given all facts leading up to this climax. Have re-read this bookl--excellent to maintain in science fiction library collection

Summary: SF Allegory at its Best
Review: What if you lived on a world with six suns? If any given day had at least two suns in the sky, and often three or four? Kalgash is just such a world. The inhabitants of Kalgash have been inundated with sunlight since their birth; the need for light is instinctive. Imagine the terror and psychosis created by Nightfall, the one night when night truly does fall over Kalgash . . . the one time every two thousand years when all six suns set at once.

Nightfall is a poignant and suspenseful allegory about the fall of civilization. The dynamic team of Asimov and Silverberg present us with both a thrilling and suspenseful story, and an exquisitely researched explanation of how Dark Ages come to be.

Most of all, Nightfall reminds us that primal human fear and instinct must always be kept at bay by civilization, by order, by law and organization. Nightfall reminds us that the fall of civilization has happened before . . . with the fall of the Roman Empire and the ensuing Dark Ages.

It happened before. It could happen again.

Summary: The genius in Asimov did it again!!!!!
Review: This is the best book I've ever read. It gave us lots of suspense. A really interesting book. This would be a good book to make a movie out of. So Mr. Spielberg, if you're out there this is your next big movie. If anyone rates this less then an 8, they're crazy. I would recommend this book to everyone. Well I hope you read it. It's to good. If you don't read it, I pity you. Hope you enjoy it!!!!!!!!

Summary: Best novel yet? Maybe
Review: It was marvelous. Once you picked it up, you coudn't stop. One e of the best novels I've ever read!!!!!!!!!!!!

Summary: A fine classic co-authored by the master.
Review: The short story this book was based upon was "better," in that it was told bluntly and to the point, with little if any regression. The expanded book form was entertaining, and I highly recomend it--- and yet I found that some of the parts didn't really "need" to be in the book. If one is looking for Asimov at his best, one could do better looking elsewhere. Still, it is very much worth reading. Mister Asimov did better work writing alone.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Excellent
Review: A fast paced action story written by two Masters. A planetary system has several suns. At any given time, one or more suns are visible in the sky.
