Rating: Summary: Adorable! Review: I read this book when I was little, and even today, I still love it! It's a wonderful, charming book, with the cutest illustrations. Although it's directed mostly toward little kids, I think that any cat lover would enjoy this story.
Rating: Summary: a beautiful urban allegory Review: Jane Tabby is surprised to find that her 4 kittens all have wings. Living in a rundown part of a city, she comes to realize that with these wings they can escape this life and fly to a better one. The kittens' exploration of the more rural countryside is told in beautiful language, and also with humor. And their meeting and befriending some children results in a touching conclusion. A wonderful story, rich in ideas, creative in language, is OK for kids above age 4 or so, but is even better for slightly older kids; it is also ostensibly a children's book that is equally enjoyable for adults. The 2 sequels thus far are also excellent, though with a touch less magic than this one.
Rating: Summary: This is a warmhearted book for young and old cat lovers.. Review: This book explores the lives of five kittens born with wings to a mother cat who doesn't have wings, and their adventures in finding a place to live in the country. Themes of being different in a world that can't appreciate the difference are also brought out. Makes you want to own a winged cat
Rating: Summary: SEARCHING FOR KIND HANDS Review: This delightful tale of four winged felines is a read-in-one-sitting treat--great to read aloud as well. A sweet fantasy, CATWINGS relates the adventures of tabby siblings whose mother advised them to leave the city slums for their health--not to mention her second honeymoon... Whimsy and humor combine to create an enchanting piece, which reveals the similarities between two sympathetic (i.e. mutually dependent) species. Purrfect for kids under 10 and all cat lovers. Beats Puss in Boots paws down! It's the Cat's Whiskers--and now with Wings!
Rating: Summary: Great children's book about leaving home Review: This is a delightful children's book about cats that can fly. Born wild in the city, their wingless mother encourages them to fly away from the urban dangers in search of a different and better life. Of course, dangers in the country are not absent, only different. The tale of their adventures is one that kept my children entertained, and they insisted that it be purchased. After their high praise, I read the book and enjoyed it as much as they did. My children especially loved the happy ending.
Rating: Summary: A very exciting book Review: This is a really funny book. It's also sad and scary and adventurous. I feel as though it's happening alll around me when I read it. The other Catwings books are really good, too. They are easy to read for five-year olds.
Rating: Summary: Catwings Review: This is about the book CATWINGS. There are four cats: James, Roger, Harriet, and Thelma. They all have wings. Their mom, Janet, has always wondered why her kittens have wings and she does not. This book is fantasy fiction. The book has cats with wings I don't think it would be true.
In one part of the book Harriet was getting chased by a dog, but her wings got her out. During the book you never know what would happened like, when there was an owl just sitting there watching them, you can find out the rest.
I like this book because I love cats. I recommend this book to people who enjoy cats, or like fictional books.
Rating: Summary: I Loved Catwings Review: This is the perfect book for cat-loving adults to read aloud to cat-loving kids--and then guiltily snatch for their own shelves. Four alley kittens are born with wings (much to their mother's astonishment) and use their unusual capabilities to seek out a more hospitable place to live. The kittens are distinct personalities and their plight and trek are movingly told. A future classic.
