Summary: Honey, I shrunk the scientists!
Review: For sheer creativity, Asimov's "Fantastic Voyage" is just that--fantastic. Sadly, the Master was not a master of writing technique and this novel is uneven, especially in character development. Still, the idea of shrinking a spaceship with lasers and then injecting it into a body to cure a man of an inoperable blood clot is groundbreaking science fiction, years ahead of nanotechnology. A fun read, if not the best of Asimov.

Summary: Fantastic Yoyage, the Best Book Ever!
Review: I had never read an Isaac Asimov book. I had seen the movie Fantastic Voyage, but I did not know it was based on Isaac's book. When I read fantastic Voyage I couldn't stop reading, even at some of the more plain parts I was mesmerized. I felt like I knew the characters. It's a great book for anyone, and it's most definatly the best book I have ever read!

Summary: This counts as a project for English X. Hope you agree.
Review: It was only a high school library where I discovered one of Isaac Asimov's greatest and still unchallenged masterpieces, Fantastic Voyage. My exploration into this voyage started during a frantic search for a book to create a project on for my English X class (Yes, I am one of the surviving literate sophomores, a.k.a. The Concise Geek.) Being the Concise Geek I was/am--any GEHS student will give you a different answer (until they read this paper)--, my instincts drew me to various authors of subjects that any sane person would consider impossible based on common sense. Seeing how I lack common sense and sanity, I couldn't find anything that matched my criteria at first. About at that point (30-35 min.), I was able to broaden my search to something easier to relate to, such as books based on movies. I am hideous with directions and it showed, seeing I still couldn't find anything interesting enough. About at the last 5 min. of class, my memory produced an image of Isaac Asimov, who I remembered as one of the most gifted and famous science fiction writers of his time and the present. Looking through that name, I found a medium-sized book with the words Fantastic Voyage printed close to the font you see here, only many sizes larger. Remembering a movie I saw in a unanimous science class about this, I removed it from its shelf and managed to check it out before the bell to World History rang. I started reading the book when I got on the bus, and my bizarre mind instantly adapted to the vivid description, powerful use of words, and unbelievable insights in scientific process I wouldn't have guessed they had any knowledge of back then. From a simple concept known as miniaturization, Asimov lured me into a world of complex yet minute structure, powerful concepts, unprecedented detail, and a very deadly struggle between several very dangerous adversaries, only one of them human. As soon as I started reading this masterpiece, I couldn't close it until the last sentence processed throughout the easy-to-damage nodes of my memory, but if you knew me well enough, you could probably say that anytime I start reading something (This statement applies to my mind and my reading habits.) This excellent novel inspired me in ways I can't even begin to describe on this document. For one, I show a lot more respect towards sci-fi novels, although none really compare with the style Asimov used in any of his novels. In this respect, one of the most astounding qualities implemented by Asimov involved the way his subject matter seemed very complicated and intricate yet simple to understand and remember, such as the carotid artery and Brownian motion (Trust me when I say I'm not reading <glances over his shoulder> Fantastic Voyage while I'm typing this document.) Based on reactions strung throughout the Internet, critics consider this novel as one of the most inspiring and educational works of science fiction ever written. Several of these reviewers especially pointed out how this novel compares with most science fiction novels of modern times. To my surprise, most of them admitted that Fantastic Voyage was much more realistic than what today's authors are capable of writings, even those who have attempted to copy Asimov's style. To accentuate this insight, most of them agreed that few novels they have ever read gave them this much thought about human nature and what would actually result if we could actually fit into the human body to fight a life-threatening problem or any other reason. Sadly enough, I doubt that these reviewers have read anything besides Asimov, but I suppose that all theoretical conjectures of this nature must be based on faith (e.g. Catholicism, Clinton's oath to office, etc.) If you have a good grasp of the inner workings of the human and/or wish to read something that you'll pretty much never forget, I would definitely recommend this book to you. In my opinion, the new concepts Asimov drilled into the lining of my skull are worth about six to eight hours of reading, not necessarily in one day (As I learned the hard way.) Seriously, if you haven't heard of or read Asimov's work, Fantastic Voyage would be the best way to start off and enjoy true science fiction at heart, for I guarantee that you will be impressed at the least. Thank you, and don't let the door hit you in the rear on the way out (Bad humor always comes near the end at 1:00, for I work best/only under pressure.)

Summary: scientifically heart warming
Review: My impression of this book at first was that it was going to be a very non adventurous tale of a man leaving to go to a science lab and just completing the regular jobs of a scientist in the late 60's. but having read this book, it shows me that miniaturization is the one major factor in this and how back then that wasn't even thought of. not even lazer surgury of azimov was getting a good review for the upcoming years of this techneque. I really admire his use of all different aspects such as suspence, science, crimality, and romance. i give this 4 and 1/2 stars.

Summary: A Great Sci-Fi
Review: The book "Fantastic Voyage", by science fiction writer Isaac Asimov, is one of the greatest sci-fi books I have ever read. The book is about five people, who are shrunk down to miniature size and injected into a man's body to destroy a blood clot. If they fail, the man will die and the Americans will lose all of the information he can tell them to win a war they are fighting. It described the exact situation of the main characters in wondrous imagery. It was told in third person omniscient point of view, and described, in incredible beauty, the feelings of every character. I also enjoyed the feeling of suspense that Asimov projects by causing several problems to fall upon the characters, rerouting the course of their sub several times. I think anyone who enjoys books about the future, government, anatomy, and sci-fi in general will love this book, which ought to be a classic.

Summary: Honey, I Shrunk the Scientists!
Review: The Fantastic Voyage by Isaac Asimov is a book for the adventure lover, the scientist, and the detective in all of us.
During a cold war set in the future, a submarine full of scientists, miniaturization experts, and a spy is miniaturized to the size of a large bacterium and injected into the human bloodstream to remove a blood clot in the brain of brilliant scientist. I loved the suspense of not knowing who the enemy was. The descriptions of the human body's normal reactions to a microscopic invasion'what a white blood cell chasing you might look like'fascinated me too.
