Summary: The seven songs of wizardry
Review: In this wonderful sequel to the lost years of Merlin he must race to master the soul of each of the seven songs before time runs out, and even if he can master all of the songs souls he must then face the Cyclops, Baylor. As Merlin and his friend Rhia race to find and master the soul of each song they meet up with all of their old friends and some old enemies. It has been prophesized that only a child of human blood, like himself, can defeat Baylor, but as his grandfather the great wizard Tuatha said, "the truth has many faces".

Review: I hate school book reports more than anything in the world. each month we have to read a new book, and i chose the first merlin book last time, and the seven songs of merlin for this month. I loved the first book soo much, so i decided to read the second. I truely hate reading more than anything. This was the first book I actually got into. The wonderful scenery and an all around fantasy backround. I really reccomend it to anyone who likes fantasy...even a little bit.

Summary: Loved it from start to finish
Review: A Review by Elizabeth
Here Merlin is again in book two of The Lost Years of Merlin trilodgy. He now has the task to bring life back to the land of Fincayra. He soon vearse of course. He Misses his mother. He is soon reunighted with his mother. But his happieness doesn't last long. His mother is stricken ill by a poisoness flower. Now Merlin has to travel to the other world to find the cure for his mother.

I loved the way Barron Mixed Celtic lore to his own version of the Merlin legend. Barron based his book during the years merlin was missing form history (when he was a kid). I love Barron's unique writeing style. He is very descriptive in the way he writes. He created a wonderful magical place full of mystical creatures. I personally love these kinds of storys. I loved this book from start to finish. I recommend reading the first book in the serese first. If you like Harry Potter you will love this book.

Summary: The breathtaking sequel to The Lost Years Of Merlin.
Review: Merlin has finished his quest of discovering Fincayra and his destiny. He has made friends like brave Rhia, Trouble, his soaring hawk friend, and Shim, a dwarf-giant. With the Treasures of Fincayra safely kept hidden in the land, he sets out with the wondrous Flowering Harp to restore beauty and color to the grey, barren land. But a new journey awaits him, one that he hopes can somehow help him find the cure to him dying mother. Joined by Rhia, Merlin must survive a harrowing adventure, and hopefully gain wisdom through the Seven Songs Of Wizardry that will enable him to enter the Otherworld. But that will mean facing off against Balor, a cruel and mighty ogre whose merst glance can kill anyone. Will he and Rhia survive the terrifying consequences -- and will his mother live? In T.A. Barron's deep and epic sequel to the first novel in this saga, The Lost Years Of Merlin, the inner journey of Merlin isastounding and the writing is fabulous. Full of beauty, wisdom, and wondrous power, The Seven Songs Of Merlin is a sequel that will win the hearts of readers everywhere. The quest of Merlin lives on, and furthurs more into what I can't wait to read: the third book in the quintet, The Fires Of Merlin.

Summary: how about 4 3/4 stars?
Review: This book was great. It was an easy read, w/ answers of the past about Merlin's family, and it's form was great. The seven songs, that Merlin himself has to decipher, seem so real, as if, maybe, they do exist. I think that the brave hero is finding a home in all our hearts as we read these books, and I can't wait for the next one!

Summary: BEST IN THE SERIES
Review: The seven songs of merlin is by far the best book in the series. The story is about a boy who travled away to a island away from his mother and hometown (this happens in the first book). He ends up on the magical island of Fincayra. In the begining of the book he searches for a magical shell which he uses to transport his mother onto the island. A couple hugs and kisses later the mother smells a posionus flower which will kill her after one cycle of the moon. To get a potion to cure her he must "master" seven songs which the answers to are scattered over the (really big) island. When (and if) he dose this he must kill a cyclops, and find his way to a well which will take you to the under world. If he can somehow get there he must find the god dagda get the potion and get accross the (very big) island to his mother to give her the potion. This is also the most important because this is the book where merlin (without reall knowing it) gains all his powers that will help him greatly in the future. THis is a fascinating and very exciting book that will be a classic for years to come. This book will not make sence if you don't read the first one first. The series is better than the Harry Potter series and is even better if you read them in order, it will make more sence, it will be more exciting, and will have more suspence and won't be quite as counfusing. I flipflopped this one and the fourth one and some of the things said in the fourth one made no sence. Once i read this one everything just came all together in my mind when I finished it. This whole series is a must have for your collection and will be loved for ever.
