Summary: This book was the bomb!
Review: This is the all time best book for little kids. As I was reading it about 6 years ago I wished that it will never end but it ended. If you have a child you should read this book to them, I guarantee you that your kids will like it if not too bad.

Summary: A Wonderful Book!
Review: This book, was absolutly wonderful! Just the way the author captured Beauty's personality-(All of the characters' personalities)-and the true passion that she had for the beast, was unbelievable. I got this book from my school library, but it's in my shopping cart now. I have to admit that the book was tedious at times, but other than that, I fell in love with this passionate and thrilling tale.

Summary: Beauty- a richly detailed version of the childhood fairytale
Review: My English class read this book and we only just finished it. I found myself held captive in the romantic, and enriched version of the childhood fairytale that I remembered. Though the story is not brimming with pageturning conflict, it can easily lock you into the book. The romantic conflict alone can make it an exciting story to some. I found myself reading more than the assigned pages from English class, even though I am usually eager to finish my assignments. Beauty is a must read for everyone, even the nonromantic.

Summary: this is a great book!!!!!!
Review: I loved this book!!!! It tells that not all girls are perfect and we must look inside of our selves to find real beauty. My favorite part is when Lydia and Bessy try to make Beauty wear the princess dress its really funny. If you have not read the book READ IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Summary: Delightfully told classic with a smart twist
Review: "Beauty" was a gem! Finally, a classic fairytale with an intelligent female character! I loved the incorporation of the traditional story line into a wonderful character developement. It's priceless!

Summary: An amazing rendition of the classic fairy tale
Review: This is the first of McKinley's coming of age books and is by no means lacking becase of that fact, it is a true classic. When I picked up this book I had just finished the dark book "Deerskin" and found this book surprisingly refreshing. The last time I had read the TRUE tale of Beauty and the Beast was about eight years ago in my then current orthodontist's office. Well, now eight years after that I found this book wonderfully written. Looking back I find it hard to believe that this book wasn't illustrated because it left such clear mental pictures. The character Beauty is wonderfully relateable and a strong willed young woman who is very admirable. All in all a book you do not want to miss reading. A feel good book to curl by the fireplace on a cold night with.

Summary: A Magical Escape
Review: Rather than the one-dimensional "beauty" of the folk version, McKinley creates a real character who is not proud or vain, but brave and caring. It is easy to feel Beauty's fear when she first meets the Beast and her anxiety as she runs through dark halls, seeking him and finding him almost dead. She has the heart of a true hero, one deserving of the love the gentle Beast gives her. This story is beautiful, really the most heartwarming and enchanting version ever written.

Summary: This book couldn't possibly be any better
Review: I loved this book the whole way through! It starts out a little dull and you want to put it down, but once you catch one, that is impossible. A great fantasy involving romance, and suspense! I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys fairy tales! I have read this book 3 times since I bought it a few months ago, and it never loses its touch.

Summary: I've read it again and again!
Review: What a wonderful story. I read it first in seventh grade, and it has only improved in later years. I now understand more of the allusions and "big words" that once went over my head. It has only made the story richer. My first copy has worn out- so I bought another- it's worn out, too. I'm about to invest in a hardcover version that won't fall apart! I love the story of Beauty and the Beast- the Disney one being one of my favorites, especially the Broadway version- but BEAUTY is definitely my favorite. I highly recommend it to girls (and women) of all ages!
