Summary: Book Reveiw for The Fires of Merlin
Review: I really liked this book because it was really interesting. I think another reason I liked this book is because it is about a child dealing with adult problems. This book is mainly about magic and the choices Merlin has to make.

The best parts of this book were the confrontations with the kreelixes. I also enjoyed when Eremon confronted the kreelix to save merlin. Another really good part was the battle with the dragon. I think the worst part was the begining.

Tom Barron does a really good job with his charecter and the describtion of them. Like his other books T.A. Barron did a really good job of describing the setting. T.A. Barron is a really good writer and I have really enjoyed his books.

Summary: A Great Read
Review: T. A. Barron takes the cake once again! This book is not only adventurous, but it chronicles and takes you through this part of the childhood of Merlin. A highlight of the book is the poetry of Cairpre that adds realism and a different flavor. The constant excitement and suspence that keeps you turning the pages is another highlight. Something that keeps me reading this great series in the careful, delicate description of things. An example is Hallia and Eremon, the deer-people of the story. The description of them is so precise that you can immediately picture them. Also great is the clearly developing love of Merlin for Hallia. Another of the many wonderful things about the book is the ending, which shows many of the lessons that Merlin has learned during his travels and how they will help him in the future. I give this unbelieveably great book a 5 of 5. It is, by far, my favorite book that I have ever read.

Summary: The Fires of Merlin
Review: The Fires of Merlin is a really great book. It starts with Merlin coming of age as a wizard. Then he gets a cry of help from the queen of the darves. The great dragon has awakened. He must fight this dragon, along with the magic eating kreelixes. It is breath taking and a really great book!

Summary: Just keeps getting better!!
Review: The first thing i must say is, if you haven't read the first two books in this series, GO READ THEM. Then read this book! The characters from the others are reintroduced, the island is still the same old Fincayra, Merlin is still the same boy full of faults, and this book is still just as amazingly awesome as the others!!!! The adventures never stop, as well as Merlin's journey of self-discovery. He seeks to destroy a dragon, while confronting his own inner dragons (or fires), some old, some new. Fincayra still holds countless mysteries, and the characters become more colorful as you get to know each of them from Merlin's different encounters with them. The danger, as in the others (and especially apparent in the Seven Songs of Merlin), is very real. Merlin, a boy I like because of his recognizing his own faults, is surrounded by prophecies and expectations, especially his own, and tries hard to live up to them. If you like the Harry Potter books by JK Rowling (though I can't imagine why you wouldn't) and the Dark is Rising Sequence by Susan Cooper, you will surely enjoy to travel with Merlin while he learns about magic, Fincayra, his family history, himself, and about the value of all life.

Summary: Just read it
Review: The plot is excellent, the characters are intriguing, but what I like most about the Merlin series is that Barron has a way of slipping in his own truths, morals, and themes. Whether or not i agree with them, I have to admire the way that they fit in so well with the story. I have read the first 4 of the Merlin series, and this and the first book are the best. #2 is very good, but it kind of fits to much into one story, if you ask me. I didn't like #4. Get this book, you'll love the story, and, if you look hard enough, you'll enjoy the "underlying themes" too.
