Summary: I have read them all and this is impressive, most impressive
Review: It has been 1 year since the movie but 3 years have passed when this book's tale takes place.

The story and the writing are outstanding. This book reads with the same familiarity that the middle trilogy and the writings that surround those characters posses. I do not include the "Vector Prime" series, which has been jarring to say the least.

Mr. Bear is faithful to all that is appealing in this Universe of long ago, and he certainly has his own style. Unlike many other Authors he brings his talents to bear without trampling over the "feel" of Star Wars, he does not impose himself on the ongoing saga he relates it beautifully.

This adventure has to be read as it is filled with events that will need to be known before the next movie is released. Like Phantom Menace this story centers around Anakin, and expands on what we know about him from the movie. I was curious how they were going to fill a 10 year gap between the story of Episode 1 and 2, but this books demonstrates how, and even includes a slick Coda at the end that makes the reader wish there were an additional 341 pages.

A young man who we all know from the Deathstar is introduced, and other familiar characters we know from the middle trilogy appear here.

The book opens with a type of race that is every bit as good, or better than the Pod Race, Anakin's flying skills are tested with an incredible ship. And throughout it all, Obi-Wan keeps up. He knows like we do, that Anakin is not one to be competed with. "The Chosen One" and what he is and will become are beginning to show in this volume.

I hope Mr. Bear will write many more installments. I kid you not, he's that good!

Summary: Excellent Book
Review: This is definetely a very good book. It has an interesting plot, cool technology, and characters that you will recognize from the movies (not only Episode I). It's a good filler to read in between New Jedi Order books. I gave it a five because this book is a good one for even non-Star Wars readers.

Summary: Rouge Planet is what we need in between movies
Review: The book was excellent. It fueled the need I needed for more Star Wars after Episode 1 came out. It keeps fans occupied while Episode 2 is being filmed. The author captures Obi-Wan and Anakin great, and it's really exciting to read about Tarkin (Who will become the well known Grand Moff Tarkin) and see how Episode 2 is starting to lead into the original movies (Episode 4 - A New Hope)

Summary: Star Wars: Rouge Planet
Review: This is one of the best Star Wars books I have read in a long time( not to say the others are bad) but it helps fill in a little bit more of the huge puzzle. I like how in this story there is more of Obi-Wan because he has never before gotten the book time he deserves. This is a book worthy of the Star Wars universe.

Summary: Rogue Planet review
Review: The books aim is to bridge the gap between Episode I and Episode II. The book is set 3 years since the Battle of Naboo (i.e. 3 years since Episode I) and focuses on Anakin's training by Obi-Wan Kenobi. Also it tells about the change that occurs since Palpatine was elected. Overall I would recommend anyone who is a star wars fan, or has seen Episode I. A well written book - 9/10

Summary: A Good Book That's A Perfect Follow Up To Phantom Menace
Review: I love this book. It is my favorite Star Wars book I have read. The book has wonderful details that let you explore the world of Zanoma Sekot and see how Anakin reacts to different things. Rogue Planet shows the begginings to the long relationship of Anakin and Obi-Wan. It has several intriging elements and is exciting to read.

Summary: A bit boring, yet a should read for Star Wars fans
Review: Three years have passed since "The Phantom Menace". Anakin Skywalker still retains his child-like innocence as he finds a deeper relationship with the Force. His master Obi-Wan Kenobi still feels he is not ready to take on a mission and with good reason, too. Though Anakin is strong in the Force, he still is undisciplined, bearing the scars of his former slavery. But the council and revered Jedi Thracia Cho Leem feel that Obi-Wan and Anakin should be sent to the planet of Zonama Sekot, home of where the galaxy's fastest ships are made. A year ago another Jedi Knight had been sent to the planet but nothing has been heard from her since. And as the two Jedis Obi-Wan and Anakin find strange going-ons of Zonama Sekot, Commander Wilhuff Tarkin and Raith Sienar make plans to extract the secrets of the planet...

The plot leaves much to be desired for as most of the story is focused on the building of the ships, plus all of the ceremonies and traditions involved. A bit strange, this part of the book never really held my interest and I had to slowly read along. But the beginning of the story is very interesting and exciting, telling about one of Anakin's romp in the underworld of Coruscant. The last part of the book is also extremely exciting to read. Probably the beginning and last part of the story is what saved "Rogue Planet" from complete dullness.

My favorite character of all the Star Wars, besides Harrison Ford as Han Solo, has always been Obi-Wan Kenobi. So when I first had heard about "Rogue Planet" I was very excited to read more about Obi-Wan. Unfortunately, he's in a way placed more as a secondary character to Anakin Skywalker. Also he is made very stern and at times made to be in the wrong. One of the most interesting characters for me was Raith Sienar. Somehow he's a very likable bad guy, if you know what I mean.

"Rogue Planet" I recommend for those who are Star Wars fans. But for those who have never read any Star Wars books and plan to start with this book, I recommend you read something first. Here are a few more Star Wars recommendations. First there's the Jedi Apprentice Series and Jedi Quest Series. Though aimed for young adults, they're extremely fun to read even for adults. Another Star Wars Series I recommend and like a lot are the Young Jedi Knights series. More on the teenager level of reading. For adult readings, a few selections I enjoy reading are "The Thrawn Trilogy", "The Jedi Academy Trilogy", "The Corellian Trilogy", and "The Truce at Bakura".

Summary: A big change from recent SW books that's not for the better
Review: Overall, I enjoyed this book, but I found the first half to be a bit of chore. The second half of the book - when Obi-Wan Kenobi and his now 12-year-old Padawan, Anakin Skywalker finally get to Zonama Sekot - moves along a lot better. Zonama Sekot is a fascinating place and what Anakin experiences there gives you a few clues as to his eventual transformation into a Sith Lord.
