Summary: Good, But not great
Review: This is the third book of Lackey's that I've read. This is about the the hundreth fantasy novel I've read. Although the plot is very sound, and the details are very good, one gets tired of all the horrible things that keep happening. I mean, crushing her feet were a bit much. Still, I finished this book in one night. But for you starters, I would compare Lackey with Tamora Pierce and Lloyd Alexander. Lackey is one of the best authors I have seen.

Summary: I adored it!
Review: This is truly one of my favorite books! When I read it for the first time I could not put it down, nor could I help laughing, weeping and smiling when the story unfolded. I won't read it in public, though, I'd be too embarrased at crying in front of people. I've never read a book that has had that much affect on me, it was that good!

Summary: Excellent Choice!
Review: This trilogy was wonderful! My best friend gave them to me after I had read The Last Herald-Mage trilogy and I absolutely loved it! Yes this book is rather graphic, but they are not intended for children. The fact that Talia was tortured only makes it all seem real. I mean how many villains are going to go, "Well, I want to take over your country and kill off your queen. Would you care for some tea?" This book is wonderful and left me teary eyed at the end. I've read it a grand total of 8 times and feel the same way each time I pick it up. I definetly recommend it to anyone who likes real fantasy!

Summary: EXCELLENT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Review: This was a great book! I LOVED it!!! No, it was not too graphic! If any of you people researched the subject, you would find that torture in the middle ages was a LOT worse. To bad about Kris...

Also recommended: All of Lackey's Heralds of Valdemar books.

Summary: So Great, I still can't put it down!
Review: This was by far, the best book in the trilogy. You want to wrap yourself up in this book and not put it down. I figured out the villian in book one but loved it when they discovered it. I cried when Ylsa died before but I cried harder the end of this one. I still can't put this book down. The ending is perfect!! My heart went out to Kris. True friendship will always be a large part of the world.

Summary: This was the first book by Mercedes Lackey that I read.
Review: THis was the first Mercedes Lackey book that I read. It was well written and captivating the story aws great and the characters were real to me. after I read this book I continued reading books by Mercedes Lackey and Haven't stopped yet. I looked through the list of books that Amazon had by Mercedes Lackey and and I've read all but ten of them. If Arrows Flight was the first it must have been good!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Read it and weep (literally)
Review: To be honest, I haven't cried upon reading of the terrible experiences of Talia. Yet I can certainly understand why someone would. True, the good guys are clearly separated from the bad guys with no shadows in between, and the violence and brutality done to Talia are graphic, but the book is nevertheless fascinating. Often times it is hard to distinguish between friend and foe in the fantasy novels. Having clearly defined villains is sometimes therapeutic to your aching head. Who wants to spend all their time trying to figure out whether or not that character is trustworthy??

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Superb - Ranks alongside The Last Herald-Mage Trilogy
Review: Truly outstanding trilogy, ranking alongside The Last Herald-Mage as her finest works to date. Gripping from beginning to end with tears, laughter, happiness and sorrow. Keep up the good work!!!!

Summary: Arrow's Fall takes Lackey to new Hights
Review: Wow! This book is an amazing exploration of emotion. It begins with a common enough plot, one with twists and intrigues but it is in the characters that Lackey shows her genius. I have watched Talia grow up through these books and have grown to love her and her friends, thus her pain cuts me and her joy cheers me. While I can't say I enjoy seeing my friends suffer I did enjoy this book and treasure it as some of the most emotional literature that I have read. Be warned that there are severel scenes in here that contain such raw emotion that you will tear up thinking about them later.

Summary: This is a great book!
Review: You will absolutly fall in love with this book. Ms. Lackey's characters are very realistic, and so are their trials. You will feel like you are best friends with Talia by the end of the book! A real tear-jerker! A must-read!
