Rating: Summary: The man she loved was the devil himself Review: This is my personal favorite out of the incarnations of immortality series. It is about Orb, a young lady on a quest for the Llano, the music of power. She searches all over the world, making an odd assortment of friends, from a gypsy girl, to a mermaid in a tank at the circus, to Livin' Sludge who travels in Jonah the whale. She also meets the mysterious Natasha, who she falls in love with. Will she find the Llano? If she does, what will happen next? That is for you to find out when you read Being a Green Mother
Rating: Summary: Very Good, But a Bit Too Strange Review: This is the fifth (and, for a time, the last) book in the "Incarnations of Immortality" series (Piers Anthony later wrote two more, good books, on "good" and "evil" in the series). The whole series takes place in a version of our reality where magic holds equal status with science, and each major aspect of reality - death, time, fate, war, nature, good, evil - is run by an ex-mortal who has, by choice or chance, inherited the job of running that aspect."Being a Green Mother" tackles the aspect of nature. The writing is fast-paced and flawless, but the plot gets very weird at times, and there is not much depth to this book, unlike "On a Pale Horse" (death) or "Wielding a Red Sword" (war). I am glad that Anthony went on to write two more, better books for this series, as this would not have been a good way for the series to end.
Rating: Summary: the series just gets worse Review: This is the only review I will write for the entire Incarnations of Immortality series because the review will be about the same for each book. The series is uneven most of the time, with philosophy thrown in with annoyingly cute humor and cliches. This book is the worst of the lot. It goes on and on about this quest, following the exact same formula as in all the other books. The only thing that changes is the point of view depending on what character is highlighted. It's boring. It's a waste of time. The only good thing about this book (and all the rest) are the interesting concepts about Death, Time, Fate, War, Nature, Evil, and Good. The premise is okay, but the storytelling is awful. Read one book and consider yourself done.
Rating: Summary: I persanaly Feel that this is the best of all 7 books. Review: Why the hell didnt this book get 5 stars? Its the best of all of them.It finally wraps up the end, well origanally it did then good and evil came into the picture
Rating: Summary: Chaos gives many a strange and unpredictable turn of events. Review: You search for a power hidden deep inside of you and when youfind it, what next? Do you unleash terror and chaos on an unsuspectingworld, as Orb has done? Not many of us would, depending on the perspective, but loving Satan can do many a strange thing to a person. As an avid reader I do not give praise to many books, but this is a truly engrossing series. Piers Anthony is a superb writer with a great sense of humor. Who else has tried to make the Prince of lies tell the truth, or made loving Satan alright? Piers Anthony is a fun author to read when you have the time, or somtimes when you just need time to relax.
