Summary: The series' best
Review: I used to love Piers Anthony. I worshipped him. Now, to be honest, I absolutely can't stand him. And yet, there are certain select books which I still love. The two at the top would have to be A Spell for Chameleon and Being a Green Mother. Being is a wonderful book, by far the best of the Incarnations of Imortality series. The plot is unpredictable (if a bit irrelevent-seeming at first), the characters are memorable, and the scenes are fascinating. I find myself going back and rereading parts of the book. I have half of a latter chapter memorized. As I said before, I detest Anthony, but I must admitt that he is a king of dialogue, and this is best displayed in Being a Green Mother. Read it, if only to learn how to write from it. Writing is one of my fortes, and my favorite thing to do, and as much as I hate it, my dialogue owes the most to this book.

Summary: The Weakest Link
Review: I was not as impressed with "Being a Green Mother" as I have been with the previous four novels in this series. I cared very little for Orb (the title character), who really should have been further developed. The peripheral characters were more interesting, and carried most of the book. The story line is intriguing in the beginning, but through most of the middle of the book, I found myself struggling to stay engaged. "Being a Green Mother" does pick up towards the end, but doesn't manage to save the work entirely. The magic in this particular novel is WAY over the top, even for those who are familiar with Anthony's other works, and readers may find it frustrating. If you are new to this series, I would not suggest beginning with this episode of the saga. Synopsis: Orb is gifted with a rare ability to entrance people with her music. Music is her passion. As a child, she hears a piece of music that she simply cannot resist, and longs to posses it. Little does she know that the song is one of the most powerful weapons of magic to have ever been created, and her pursuit of it will lead her into a prophecy that she has long ignored. While searching for this rare and beautiful song, Orb finds that her power is suited to the office of Nature. In fact, she has been nominated as the next Incarnation of Nature, and unless she accepts her fate, and learns to wield the power of Nature accordingly, the world as we know it just might end.

Summary: It is a very enjoyable book full of mystery and romance.
Review: If you have not read book six, and mabey you will be relieved. Find out what happens to Orb, my favorite character, Mym, Niobe, Atropos, Clotho, Norton, and Zane from the devils point of view. Afterwards try book seven and learn what happens to Orlene.

Summary: What You've Been Waiting For: Nature Explained!
Review: Just to forewarn you, I'm a little biased in my opinion of this book, because of my musical background. That being said...WHAT A BOOK! This story follows a lady named Orb as she takes on the role of the Green Mother, Nature. What is her main weapon/tool? Music! Absolutely astonishing. I've never heard music described so well. We follow Orb through the ups and downs of life as a human first and then as none other than Mother Nature herself! You have to read it to believe it. Great for musicians and non-musicians alike.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: An improvement over the previous entry. . .
Review: Like the previous four volumes in this series, "Being a Green Mother" deals with a human taking on the role of an Incarnation. While the plot of this novel becomes fairly predictible, the characters are interesting. Anthony's imagination certainly comes to the fore in this novel, incorporating, Jonah the Whale, Jezebel and the band that played in "On a Pale Horse"

Again, like the previous novel, it appears that Anthony intends to unite all the Incarnations together by family or relationship ties. Orb, the daughter of Niobe, is revealed as the mother of Orlene (fathered by Mym) who becomes the lover of Chronos. (I did find the resolution of the relationship between Mym and Orb to be unconvincing.)

Again, like the previous novel, the final showdown between the title character and Satan approaches the level of total destruction -- something not seen in the first three novels. It also becomes clear that more novels will be required -- the ending is a SERIOUS cliff-hanger! (If not entirely believable!)

An enjoyable entry in this series.

Summary: What we will do for love and music!
Review: Little did I know how wonderful this book was going to be when I first picked it up, i just really liked the cover. Thankfully the book lived up to the cover and I met some wonderful characters in a great series. Orb is truly a gifted person as she finds her way through her search for music, good, and true love

Summary: My favorite of the entire series
Review: Personally I found this book to be the most enjoyable to read out of 7 in the Incarnations of Immortality series. This book was very well written, had a great storyline, and amazing characters that I fell in love with from the beginning and never stopped loving to this very day. Let the soap opera of deities continue as Piers Anthony weaves a masterpiece of imagination and intrigue. 5 out of 5 and nothing less for this novel.
