Summary: A fantastic Pern adventure for the whole family
Review: This book is the best. Two years ago I was assigned this book to read. I didn't finish it but it was still good. Three days ago I decided to read more, and this was the perfect book. I read it in two nights and one day. It had adventure the whole way through, and I could really relate to Menolly. I liked it so much that I just received 5 more of her books from amazon.

Summary: Absolutely loved it!
Review: Anne McCaffrey was first introduced to me in this book and I LOVED IT! Menolly seems like a real person and I can connect with her. I also enjoyed the way the characters from the Harper Hall of Pern series were in the Dragon Riders series (and vice versa). It totally blew me away that the characters that I enjoyed in one book were written about from another characters point of view. Also, it's hard to understand exactly what's going on if you don't read both series (I didn't even know this until I had. I thought I understood perfectly), so it's sort of like an adventure inside of an adventure (if you know what I mean). Anyway, I would suggest this book to anyone who has any interest what-so-ever in dragons, music, or Anne McCafferey. This is a must read!

Summary: I loved this book.
Review: When I first began to read it, it was hard to get into, but as soon as I got past a couple of chapters, it opened up a whole world to my imagination. From then on, I was hooked on Anne McCaffrey. Every time I picked it up, it gave me a sence of happiness. Like when you go into a room that is well decorated and planned out. Each charracter was well thought up and easy to comprehend. Menolly is now on my list as "bravest of all woman". I really enjoyed this book!!!

Review: This was the first book of the series that I read and i loved it. I went to the library the next day and got Dragonsinger, Dragondrums, all the weyrs of pern and dolphins of pern. IT is great how the next book(dragonsinger) carries on right where this one left off.

Review: MY Mom read this book when she was young so when she bought it for me I thought it would be a real drag because anything my Mom liked, I hated. But Dragonsong really surprised me. Menolly will definately be joining my female "Hall of Fame" along with Alanna The Lioness, Daine, Sailor Moon, and Melayne. It took me an hour to read this book, but halfway through I began to realize that Menolly wasn't who Yanus wanted her to be, but what she wanted to be and she was really willing to defy him for it. The more I hear of T'Gellan, the more handsome he seems to me. This was the first book of Pern that I read and it will remain a favorite of mine forever. I wish that she'd Impressed the queen dragon though, rather than Brekke, because I think she would have made a good rider and be able to show Yanus what he did wrong. But becoming a Harper is great too. Now she can definately show Yanus what a s.o.b he really is.

Summary: A Terrific Intro To Pern
Review: I first picked this book up in class, not for an assignment but due to boredom. I found the plot and the characterization excellent. I read it in three hours! As soon as I could I went to the local bookstore and purchased the rest of the trilogy. Upon finding out how many Pernese novels there were I was ecstatic. Over the next month or two I bought all of the series and await all her new ones eagerly. I find that these are some of the few books that I can read over and over and never loose intrest in. Pern has become a real place to me and the characters are like good friends. I encourage anyone who read and enjoyed DragonSong to go purchase the rest of this fantastic series!

Summary: A Great and Imaginative Adventure for Fictional Readers
Review: I think this is one of the best fictional books I've ever read. I love all of the characters and I especailly loved it when they talked about the dragons and fire lizards. This book is well written, has good descriptions, and is very entertaining. I couldn't wait to read on, and had to read it all in one day. There were a few holes in the plost and a few things that didn't quite make sense, but besides that a great fictional book. I loved how creative Anne McCaffrey is. This is the first book of hers I read.
