Summary: THRILLING TO THE MAX
Review: This book was one of the best I've read. I had it for about a month before I read it but when I did I couldn't put it down. There are so many surprises in it it's like everyday life. T.A. Barron gives Merlin a life full of action, adventure, and sorrow. He makes Merlin have a mind and think like every other boy in the world. How much I would love to visit Fincarya.

Summary: J.R.R.Tolkien, Move Over, The Barron Is Here
Review: First, I must say that "The Lost Years Of Merlin" by T.A. Barron is posibly the best book I have ever read. It explains the (as the title says) the lost years of Merlin. Emrys (Merlin) is a young boy, when after a few unexplicable happings, strives to discover his past. Being washed ashore as a young boy leaves him without memory. His "mother" will simply not tell him anything. So he travels to the mythical land of Fincyra, where a run in of lots of exciting and dangerous characters help him with his discovery. He learns of how Fincayra is slowly being destroyed, and he now must help restore it too. This book also contains many side adventures, some of which might even continue in one of the 4 sequels, which are also all must-reads. I encourage everyone to read this book, you will not be dissapointed.

Summary: The best book ever written
Review: The best book ever written! Undoubtedly 20x better than Harry Potter, and for those of you who have read the Golden Compass (by Philip Pullman) and thought that was good, wait till you read this! I ended up reading several of these a week. Thomas (author) has an amazing way of leading the reader into the described world, allowing you to "become" the main character and, although this book is fantasy, one can become very attached to Merlin/Emrys (main character), his sister and all of the other characters. Wonderful book!

Summary: A fantastic, epic novel that is destined to be a classic.
Review: The boy who goes by the name of Emrys has but only a dim memory of his past. He questions his own mother's identity, though she loves him. He lives in a land where he is uncertain he was born, and when a fatal blow blinds his eyes, it is then that his powers come to him -- though distant and unknown, he is determined to learn who he really is. This begins a mind-shattering journey to learn his past -- and his future. When he washes ashore on Fincayra, a land rich in fruit and strange animals, he meets a friend, Rhia -- and encounters a deadly hawk, dangerous foes, and ultimately, a path that leads him to a dark castle shrounded in evil and shadows. His own destiny will change his life, for even he doesn't know how powerful his magic is -- for one day he is destined to become Merlin. The Lost Years Of Merlin by T.A. Barron was an absolutely wonderful, colorful novel bursting with adventure and power, making this an unforgettable, fantastic fantasy the author has created.

Summary: Merlin's Lost Years (before going to King Arthur)
Review: T.A. Barron entrances many readers with wonderful descriptions and a captivating, exciting story. A young, scrawny boy finds himself washed ashore in a very unfamiliar place. So, he first asks himself, where did he come from? He doesn't remember. Then, what's his name? He doesn't remember that, either. As he frantically probes his blank mind for more memories, he finds that nothing remains of his memory. He has no idea where his family is or how he can find them. Then, he finds a beautiful, sapphire-eyed woman who, too, had been washed ashore. She claims she is his mother and is named Branwen, while the boy is Emerys. But Emerys cannot believe that he, such an ugly boy with devil's pointed ears, could be the son of such a beautiful woman. He also doesn't believe his true name is Emerys. How could it be? It didn't feel right. Emerys then finds himself calling upon magical powers that he never knew he had. He sets flame to a tree to harm a large bully, but then Emerys dives into the fire to save the bully, whose name is Dinatius. But Emerys lost his eyes while trying to (unsuccessfully) save Dinatius. Then, a gift of either his magic or from god, he gains second sight, where his eyes do not work, but he can sense and still see things. He then leaves the safety of Branwen and sets out to find his past, his name, and future. Many things happen to him on the enchanted island of Fincayra. This is a must buy for any Harry Potter fan. I encourage many people to read this book- it is great!

Summary: Don't bother with that Harry Potter junk go 4 the good stuf
Review: I've read harry potter, and i just red the 3rd book of Merlin, the only one i've read so far, but i know that harry potter does not even compare to the well written books of merlin. I was swept away with delight as the story took many unexpected turns and opened up the life of Merlin as a 14 yr old, the life not many thought of before he became King Arthur's mentor and was all powerful. A great book to read, you cant put it down as the world of Finicayra seems a reality.
