Rating: Summary: The Merlin series Review: Merlin, an amazing fantasy epic was the best most action packed series I have ever read. It is a great fantasy series in which in every book, the author allows your mind to travel to such lively places that you, without trying would know you could never reach. In some parts your fingers will tremble but in other parts you will jump out of your seat in excitement or bewilderment, for in one of those tiny little sentences lies the secret you are dying to know, but the answer totally leaves you hanging. In the end it all ties together. I can tell you that lots of times you will feel a little trickle of a tear rolling down the side of your face, but I guarantee you that if you keep reading on and on, you will soon whimper with joy. I hope that this review has pursuaded you to settle down in your La-z-boy chair, and like I have said, let your mind take you in to a place of excitement and mystery. Finally, when you are through fall back into your regular every day life, and wish that you were still in the land of Merlin.
Rating: Summary: The Lost Years of Favorites Review: The lost years of Merlin was fantastic. It was a fine show of good literature. A young boy crashes into a rock and forgets everything of his past. Even his name.
Rating: Summary: A fantastic book for seven-year-olds who like fantasy Review: This book is absolutely brilliant! It begins with a boy who doesn't even know his name, washed ashore on the rocky shore of Gwynedd. He cannot remember his past, but he sees a woman, who may be his mother. The story gets properly started when Emrys finds out the name of the strange pendant that a person who claims to be his mother always wears. The pendant is called Galator, and turns out to have vast magic powers. But evil forces are looking for it. Always surprising, with exciting twists and turns, this book also has a great central character in Emrys. You can't help liking him because he's lost and lonely, but kind to growing things. This book and its sequels are for people who are thoroughly interested in Arthurian books, and in what happens to Merlin in his young life. It should be especially interesting for people who like magic and fantasy.
Rating: Summary: Wonderful fantasy! Review: Washed up on a foreign shore, young Emrys remembers nothing of his past. After living with Branwen, a healer (who also claims to be his mother), Emrys rafts off to sea in search of answers to his past. Awakening from a deep slumber, he finds himself washed up on yet another shore. He encounters a young woman who feeds and shelters him. He later learns that the land is Fincayra, a fabled land that Branwen told him of. Emrys gets his answers when he, Rhia, and a feisty merlin venture to the shrouded castle to overthrow the evil king, Stagmar, who is turning Fincayra into a ruined island, a place of death and destruction. An excellent read! It was neat to read this book after Tolkien's The Fellowship of the Ring because it gave me a different take on the fantasy genre. ~ JFS
Rating: Summary: An Enchanting, Magical Adventure! Review: Time to put down Harry Potter and pick up Merlin! In this story, see how a young man's courage guides him to save his friend and the magical land of Fincayra... And he can't even see!
Rating: Summary: Recommended for EVERYONE! Review: I think that this is an amazing book, and that it would definitely be enjoyed by anyone who is interested in fantasy. Probably by a lot of people who AREN'T that into fantasy, too. In this novel, we embark on an exciting journey with the young Merlin- a journey which may lead our hero to the secrets of his mysterious past. It may also lead him to great perils. T A Barron makes use of a fantastic cast of characters, a rapid, exciting pace, and an intriguing setting- Fincayra. This novel also benefits from a powerful and touching theme- discovering and accepting oneself. I cannot describe how incredible this book is. It allows readers a chance to discover Barron's amazing characters and setting, and to participate in a struggle between good and evil. It is a truly excellent novel and I recommend it to everyone.

Rating: Summary: Couldn't Put It Down Review: I enjoyed this book because the way the author puts an image in the reader's mind. Merlin is about a boy in the Middle Ages who finds he has powers. He miss uses his powers and it leaves him blind. Now he is on a quest to find out his past. The main character is Merlin. I liked him because he was determined and brave. The ending of the book was breath taking. This is a book you won't forget.
Rating: Summary: A Page Turner Review: I enjoyed this book because the main character Emrys, who is a wizard, found out where he belonged. I liked him because he was not a coward. He took a step off the path and made a new one. The best part of the story was when Shim (the giant) jumped into the Cauldron of Death. Emrys was a true hero.
Rating: Summary: [This is for the whole series] Wow... *_* Review: That face is supposed to be star-struck... I'm writing this review for the whole series. It's been a while since I've read them, but I remember still that they were some of my favorites. The plots were simple, yet complex enough to intrigue the reader and expand your mind. My favorite in the series is the third... the Fires. (I always loved dragons.)
