Summary: It's a great comeback
Review: I've been reading Xanth for a while now,. The first 19 books i read them all togheter and got tired of them, because they were falling, but then, this one. WOW!! It really had everything Xanth needs, even a Demon falling in love. I can't wait to read The next one.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: "Not In My Back Yard!"
Review: I've read several of the Xanth novels and find this to be one of the most entertaining. The twist of bringing in a family from Mundania is great. And as usual, Anthony keeps up his wit with humorous puns and strange characters. If your interested in the Xanth novels but haven't read one yet this would be a good one to start on. The people of Xanth introduce so many things to the Mundania family, in turn introducing them to the reader, making it easy to grasp the concept of Xanth.

Summary: The best of the best of the Xanth series
Review: It is a very interesting and intriguing book with many twists and turns it is a book taht you just can't put down. You don't HAVE to have read the other Xanth books, but it helps if you have read the other books. I really liked it, but make sure you like fantasy for this book.

Summary: Truly an inspiring book
Review: It is one of Piers Anthony's best books ever written. An adventurous love stoy about an abused maiden and a selfish demon who become friends w/some mundanes and learn about love.

Summary: my favorite book
Review: It's a book about a selfish demon and an abused girl who come together by accident. The demon Xanth has to try to make her shed her last tear, but there's no time for that because they have to help a mundane family and try to defeat a hurricane. The ending brought tears to my eyes. Yon Ill Wind is truly one of Piers Antony's best books that he ever wrote and I personally loved it. I've been reading Piers Anthony books since I was 10 or 11, (I started with Being A Green Mother) and Yon Ill Wind is my favorite!!!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: This is a well crafted continuation of a very witty series.
Review: Mr. Anthony has done it again! This book is filled with all the PUNishment of the other Xanth novels, and then some! It manages to reunite almost all of the old gang from the previous books, and introduced some smashing new characters. I highly recommend it

Summary: Great book, dissapointing ending
Review: Out of all the Xanth Novels that have come out, this is undoubtebly one of the most fascinating in recent memory. The Demon X(A/N)th goes to Xanth as a dragon with a donkeys head to try and win a bet with all the other demons. There, he meets Chlorine, a ugly girl with a bad temper. And with that, the two of them head off to adventure. Along the way, they will meet a Mundane familly, fight a hurricane, and help save Xanth.

Its great fun to see the demon X(A/N)th as a central charachter this time around and he has a great personality that eventually becomes really likable. The Mundaine familly are a great read, I really liked how they adjusted to being in Xanth. All the other charachters are likable, although they never really got charachterized. (The pets are likeable though)

As usual, there are many puns in Yon Ill wind and I enjoyed them all, although others may not. Another thing I really liked was the "1 squeak yes, 2 squeak no, 3 squeak off track" thing (It will make sense in the book)

In summary, there is really nothing wrong with the book. It has a good plot, likeable charachters and lots of interesting situations. But the only bad thing about it is it's adrupt ending. I'll try to avoid giving anything away, but certian charachters just vanish in a sentance, where we could say goodbye to them, when they could have been seen doing some more things. The ending to the book is so adrubt, so quick and short, you wonder if Mr. Anthony lost the last few pages on his way to delivering the final manuscript to the publisher, and had to quickly write up a new ending in a minute or so before his deadline. And that ending is quite sad, and depressing. In fact, I'll go so far as to say its the most dissapointing ending I've ever encountered in a book. Its a shame that the ending is dissapointing, but the rest of the book is great.

The good:
Great book
Great charachters
Lots o' puns

The not so good:

Horrible ending
Some charachters are not explored enough

Summary: A great book, but be sure to pick up the next book (Faun and Games) because you will want to read it upon finishing this book.
