Summary: This book was action packed, and full of suspense!
Review: I loved this book, because it was full of action, suspense, and even some romance. Harry was the heroin, who saved her country with the help of an amazing blue sword, a gracious king, and some magical powers she found along the way. The book kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time, waiting for what would happen next.

Review: I cannot say enough good things about this book. McKinley plays with history by injecting the flavor of the Indian Raj into her imaginary continent of Daria. The plot is unique and the characters are sympathetic. It's a must-read!

Summary: Dull and far from believable
Review: I noticed this book is ranked in the on-line top 100 fantasy and sci fi books of all time. I really wonder who voted for it. The book is basically an adolescent fantasy where everyone lives happily ever after. The characters are flat, the world stereotyped (it's basically a poor take off of Frank Herbert's Dune) and Harry Crewe the superhero is totally unbelievable. I mean, how believable is it that a poor orphan girl who has never held a sword in her hand in her life, and is only a passable horserider, could become, in two months time, a swordsman on par with Conan who can ride like the Lone Ranger? Not to mention that she suddenly becomes endowed with the magical power of Gandalf and can see the future and start localized earthquakes. Although the authoress Robin McKinley has written several books before this one, it has the feel of a first novel. If it were just that, I could excuse McKinley, but as it stands...well, I'll pass. Oh yeah, and it was boring, too.

Review: I loved this book. It holds you till the end. Damar seemed so real, it felt like I could step right into it through the book. For anyone who loves fantasy, I recomend this book.

Review: I first read this book at age 11, and I am still re-reading as an adult. I recomend it for all young girls who love a good adventure with a brave heroine.

Review: This book is one of the best I have ever read. The land of Damar is well developed and fasinating. Harry is a strong, smart female lead. I have read this book over and over again and almost know it by heart!

Summary: A complicated fantasy.
Review: It is a rather hard one to get in to. It manipulates half of the book in preparing for the climax. Finally when the last battle comes the girl simply strolls right to the top of the mountain, holds out her sword, and the enemie is terminated. I expected more of a fight to the end strugle, than a simple distruction. I dare not give this book a one. Even if this story is a rather dull, any one who contributes his thoughts of mind to other people deserves some form of credit.

Review: After I read and re-read The Blue Sword, I still have to admit that I've never found a better book! The suspense is thrilling and keeps you turning the pages. Sometimes I wish I could travel to Damar and stay forever, especially on a bad day. This is a MUST have!
