Review: This is very good for a futuristic book

Summary: More than just a young adult novel!
Review: This wonderfully imagined novel goes beyond the grouping of young adult fiction. I am 22 years old and read this book as an assignment for a children's literature class. I thoroughly enjoyed the novel and feel that it deserves to go beyond the boundries that have been placed upon it. Everyone should read this book, regardless of age, because it contains a very possible future along with several benifiting ideals. To read this book is to further one's mind, therefore, everyone should read The Ear, the Eye, and the Arm.

Summary: Classiiiiiiiic!
Review: THIS IS MY FAVORITE BOOK OF ALL TIME. IT WAS LONG BUT I NEVER WANTED IT TO STOP. I WAS DEEPLY MOVED BY THIS BOOK. IT WAS AMAZING HOW NANCY FARMER DESCRIBED ZIMBABWE IN THE FUTURE. IF YOU HAVEN'T READ THIS MASTERPIECE BEFORE, READ IT. PERIOD.

Summary: Awesome!!! I loved it.
Review: I first heard about this book in 6th grade from my reading teacher. We were deciding which book to read in class, this one, or The Big Friendly Giant (Roald Dahl). We ended up reading The BFG, but I remained interested in The Ear, The Eye, and The Arm. I bought it through a class book order in 7th grade, and have read it at least 10 times since then. I am in 9th grade now, but I have once more started to read it. I never thought that life in Zimbabwe in 2194 could be so interesting. Boy, was I wrong! I mean, with the holo-everything, robots, automatic dobermans, nirvana guns, not to forget the Mile-High McIlwaine. I almost feel I have bonded with the three detectives, all while "helping" them with the mystery of the missing children. If I loved this book, surely you will too.

Summary: A glimpse into the magic of the human spirit
Review: Nancy Farmer's book is alive in its colorful language, brilliant world, and above all, loveing character development. I am 17 years old and an avid reader, and I found that to restrict this book to the relm of children is to loose a gift for people of all ages. I would encourage its reading to a seven-year-old or a seventy-year-old. Preferably, they should read it to each other. This book is the type of book where you need somebody around as you read to share in the adventure. I also learned a lot about the spirituality of Zimbabwe, a gift which will remain in my memory. The Ear, the Eye, and the Arm is touching and beautiful. I only hope that I can some day create something as worthy of praise.

Summary: Who didn't like it???!!!
Review: I had to read this book for a school assignment, and boy am I glad I did! Who would have thought what it would be like in the year 2194? Well, Nancy Farmer did! With holophones, robots, and spirits, no one would have ever guessed that this book takes place in AFRICA! Ear, Eye, Arm, the Mellower, Rita, Kuda, and of course Tendai, are all wonderfully written characters! If you are even thinking about getting this book...DO IT!!! You be thankful you did!

Summary: A futuristic adventure that keeps the reader riveted.
Review: I thought this book was great. Tendai and his younger brother and sister are kidnapped and experience one adventure after another in their struggle to get home. It was interesting to learn about ancient african culture as well as seeing how it might be 200 years from now. And, it was just fun to read!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: don't judge it by it's cover
Review: many pepole will take one look at the cover, and put it down immediatly as a childish sci-fi adventure. The book itself is fantastic and well deserves it's Newbery honor. The book shows the diffrence in culturs, and the striving for bravery.
