Summary: Mary Holmes English Class Dan Cook
Review: The Shade of the Druid Allanon charged Wren to bring the elves back to the four lands. It was a almost impossible task, the elves have been gone from the four lands for over 300 years and there was no trace of them. The Addershag and old prophet tells Wren to go to the edge of the four lands and keep a fire burning for 3 days and "one will come for you."

Tiger Ty a winged rider takes Wren and her friend Garth to the island where the elves live. Now she stood within that demon-haunted jungle where the elves might still live. Even if she was able to get to the elves and convince them to come back how could she retrace her steps back to the one safe place on the coast?

With her only form of magic, The Elfstones she makes her perilous journey deep into the heart of Morrilwind. And so the story begins of her journey to save the elves.

Summary: Pedestrian Fantasy Fare
Review: The Shannara series is famous, and it may be worth reading for that, as it is a big mover in the pulp fantasy circles. Other than that, there is no real reason to read the series. It's not bad, but it's not good. You might be better served reading the Lord of the Rings. If you have already read that, then you have already read a better version of this.

Summary: Great book
Review: This book in my opinion was a great book . I read the previous books , and wasn't really intrested in the quest for the lost elves . I started to read the book and found that it was action filled . This was the only Shanara book that went into detail about the use of the Elfstones . This book used alot of magic during the many battles . I would suggest this book to a TB fan.

Summary: Fantastic! The Best Book in the Heritage Series!
Review: This book is great! I've read the entire heritage series, and the entire Shannara Series excep The Elfstones and Wishsone (Which I'm reading soon). I love this book! It's full of everything I expected it to be! (Except that little fact about the Shadowen...)

Summary: Action Filled and Exciting!
Review: This book, like all the others, is a great book, and just took my breath away. Some times a little slow, but right when you think it is a little boring, a shadowen jumps out from the darkness, and you read on....

Summary: It is a good book, but it lacks some elements
Review: This by far is a very good book, but is not the best of Brooks' series of Shannara. It is an essensial element to the whole story of Shannara but this book basically is just a travelling story where Wren finds herself and her destiny.

Summary: My Second Favorite Shannara
Review: This is one of my favorite Shannara novels. Anyone who complains about LOTR-esque fantasy not giving women major roles and/or good characterizations should read this. The major character is Wren Ohmsford (although that is not her real name) and it is her charge to bring the Elves back to the Four Lands. Terry spends a great deal of time developing her and her past. We are also introduced to Stresa, the splinterscat (a cross between a cat and a porcupine), one of the most creative creatures to appear in Shannara. Although his hisses and growls are vaguely Gollum-like, he proves to be a reliable guide for Wren as she seeks the other elves and as she leads them back to the shoreline. Another interesting note concerns Garth, Wren's friend/teacher/bodyguard. He is both deaf and mute, a first for LOTR-style fantasy, and shows little if any arrogance that one might expect from one of his strength and stature.
All in all, an excellent masterpiece by Terry Brooks.

Summary: One of my favourite books
Review: This is probably my favourite adult book. Wren is my favourite character from the Shannara series and this book did not dissapoint. I loved it when she found out what the painted rocks really were and how she found out she was an elf. The actioin sequences here are excellent and so is the writing. Get this book!

Summary: A bit disappionted
Review: This is the only book in the series that was a little disappiontment. Most of the cool characters were removed for an unknown reason, the main character is disgusting... The parts that I liked most were the ones that spoke about the other Shannara children(unfourtunately there were only few of those). The book is not bad but it is far the worst in the "Heritage".
