Rating: Summary: This is a very good book. Review: This book is not one of the best, but it was pretty good. Probably the best part was the literal spelling bee at the begining.
Rating: Summary: This book was excellent! Review: This book was one of my favorite Xanth books. It had a lot of action and was well written. This is one of my favorite including A spell for Chameleon and Castle Roogna.
Rating: Summary: best Xanth book out there Review: this has to be by far the best Xanth book that i have read. It has everything that you could want out of a book, adventure, suspense, and magic. Piers Anthony is by far the best Fantasy author out there and reading this book has proven that to me. i love his books and can't put them down. i read them as fast as i can so that i can go on to the next one.
Rating: Summary: Side-splitting humor! Review: This has to be one of my favorites of the Xanth novels. One time when I was reading of Good Magician Humphrey's wedding, I couldn't stop laughing! Anthony has really outdone himself with this book!
Rating: Summary: Dastardly deeds for all!! Review: This is a great work, even if you miss the origional character bink. His son Dor packs a puch and I love the reference to one of my favorite characters from the previous book Castle Ragoona.Peirs Anthony has a good way of keeping the series going by building on previous characters and their families. I hope to find out what happens to Jewel & Crombie's daughter in the next book,Ogre-Ogre. Keep reading the series only gets better!
Rating: Summary: Not the best of the Zanth series Review: This really isn't the best of the Zanth series. I'd recommend reading all these before "Centaur Aisle." "A Spell for Chameleon," "Castle Roogna," "Ogre, Ogre" (although if you can't stand rhyming speech, run, run, run!) "Night Mare," and by far the best of the Zanth Series, the cute and up lifting story "Dragon on a Pedestal."
Rating: Summary: Really good and so funny! Review: This was not the best Xanth book, but it was very funny. I loved the part with the Spelling Bee and Dor's essay in the beginning (Thu Lanned uv Zanth - ha ha ha). I also liked how Irene trapped Dor in the end.
Rating: Summary: Entertaining and yet... Review: This wasn't one of Anthony's better Xanth novels and while I liked the way Irene handled herself I don't particularly like the way Anthony tends to depict women. He may be sexest but the book was good enough to get over that and enyoy the charecters. I really liked the ogre who was delightfully stupid and the centaurs who were (usualy) painfully smart. And, no offense intended to the author, but couldn't he cut out just a tad of the smutty jokes and sexual inuendo so some if the younger reader's mothers, such as mine, will have less reasons to complain about their kids reading it? But if you don't mind that doen't let this review keep you from reading it.-Elia
Rating: Summary: An Entertaining Journey Review: Though I am not a fan of Piers Anthony I will give him credit. No one does what he does. And Centaur Isle has it all, action, adventure, naked women, naked centaurs, and even an ogre. All lined with Anthony's punny sense of humor. A good book for young men and women.
