Rating: Summary: Life Changing Review: This has to be the best book I have ever read...I first read it when I was 13, and still find myself re-reading it now after 4 years. I have found counsil to my life through this book, for many of these things have happened to me, and I have had to make many of the same choices as Aerin. I found it a well-written thriller that has stayed in my mind, and I still find myself reading it often. I think that I rather liked The Hero and the Crown more than The Blue Sword. Perhaps it is because I am a lover of the past, of when there were supposedly dragons and knights, kings and queens, ect ect. But in both tales the characters are realistic along with their life situations, especially Aerin being torn between the two loves of her life.
Rating: Summary: Re-read this one Review: I love this book. I re-read it whenever I'm bored. The characters are wonderful (although I liked Luthe better than Tor, but that's another gripe) and the writing is beautifully done. One empathizes with Aerin-sol throughout everything she does, and one also hates all the people the author wants the reader to hate with a passion. Although I didn't like this book as much as I liked its sequel, The Blue Sword, I read this one first and it was what trapped me in Damar. Buy and read both The Hero and the Crown and The Blue Sword---and you'll find yourself rereading them both over and over again. I promise. :)
Rating: Summary: The Best Book Ever Review: The Hero and the Crown is a facinating and breathtaking story. Robin McKinley is the most creative author in the world. I love to read, and this book took me 3 days to finish it! I recommend this book for all ages!
Rating: Summary: Amazing! Review: I am 13 years old, and I hate to read! However I was blown away by this book. It felt like I was actually in the world that McKinly created! For those non frequent readers out there, I guarantee you will love this book!
Rating: Summary: Wonderful, Sophisticated Fantasy for Young Readers Review: The Hero and the Crown is full of breathtaking adventure. McKinley has a good grasp of fantasy and solid story-telling. And she really understands how magic should function in a story. Aerin is a courageous and lovable heroine and represents an example of the best and bravest for shy and awkward little girls. I loved this book when I was a little girl and re-read it several times - usually in one sitting. Recently, I gave a copy to an adult friend of mine who also loved this book and decided that he would have his daughters read The Hero and the Crown.

Rating: Summary: The Hero and the Crown Review: I loved this book! The eson I read this book was beacase that I was doing a book review on it. It was hard to draw some of the senes in this book becas it had some inapropriet thing to drow in it. But I recomend it for anyone
Rating: Summary: The Best! Review: This is my favorite novel of all time, and I can reread it infinitely. Buy copies for your family, your friends, and people you hardly know. I cannot identify what it is about this book that just blows my mind. The story is amazing, the characters are intriguing, and the world that McKinley has created lives and breathes without clouding up your glasses. This book is targeted at young adult readers, but I think anyone will enjoy it if they aren't feeling too pretentious.
Rating: Summary: GREAT BOOK! Review: I have read this book over and over, and even listened to it on tape! I love this book! It is one of my all time favorites
Rating: Summary: A Classic by the Best Review: It is my arguement that Robin McKinley is our greatest living author, not because she has won a Newberry Medal or touched the hearts of hundreds of readers, though she has. I believe she is the best because her words disappear off the page and disolve into the world of the story in the first sentance. This book is perhaps the most classic example of that rare phenomena. McKinley's style is exquisite, her story engrossing, and her characters perfectly flawed. I strongly recomend this book to those who love to read, and perhaps more importantly to those who don't. They will.
