Rating: Summary: The best series of books I have ever read Review: The lost years of Merlin series is the best for people who are interested in the life of the greatest wizard of all time. A must read!!!!
Rating: Summary: I love Merlin stories Review: The Mirror of Merlin is a great book. It is fourth in the series but you don't have to read the first three unless you want lots of information to understand it better. If you don't read the first three books, it will take you a little while to catch on, but once you understand it, you will understand what you previously read. I chose this book because I like stories with Merlin and Arthur and every one that I have seen or read was different in one way or another. This book is about Merlin and Hallia on their adventure to stop the Marsh Ghouls from destroying things and to find out why they are destroying things. Their adventure started out as helping a frightened ballymag back to his homelands, the Haunted Marsh. However, what started as helping a poor defenseless ballymag return home, turned into an adventure to save the Marsh. This book has great description and is full of surprises. I especially liked how the author described Gwynnia the dragon: '...a young dragon. Her purple and scarlet scales aglow, sat beside us. She was tucking her leathery wings, still quivering from flight, against her back." Something that surprises me is how Merlin always finds a way to do things, no matter what they are. So if you want to read a book that's full of surprises, read The Mirror of Merlin.
Rating: Summary: These Books are GREAT Review: The mirror of Merlin is my favorite of the Merlin books; it is filled with adventure and fantasy. I am 14 years old and I have read the series three times and the first book alone seven times. These books are great for all ages and are highly recommended. The fourth book is a wonderful adventure in which Merlin must discover more about himself then he really cares to know. Merlin must look deep inside of himself if he is to survive. It is a thrilling adventure and everyone should read it.
Rating: Summary: Excellent. Review: They just keep getting better. The Mirror of Merlin is one of the best fantasy books I have ever read; it does a great job standing up to it's legacy (you really should read them in order, though). Just read it, and you'll see.
Rating: Summary: It Was A Great Book Review: This book is better than Harry Potter or Lord of the Rings. It is much more interesting and has a plot that will leave you reading and reading.
Rating: Summary: An Addicting Series Review: This book was amazing. Each time I purchase the next book, I eat it up. It's easy reading, and hard to put down. I definitely recommend T.A. Barron's Merlin series. Enjoy!
Rating: Summary: The Great Magic is Back Review: This great series of books is about a young man on a journey. His name is Merlin, He is on the quest of becoming a great wizard. He must over come many task to do so. Although this book the fourth in the series "Merlin" is about finding his stolen sword. To do this he has to trek to the ugly Haunted Marsh Lands. But while he is trying to achieve the great task of retrieving his sword. He is attacked by a wicked animal, This animal casts a spell on him called the Bloodnoose. After attacked he meets a young boy named Ector. Merlin, with this spell cast upon him needs help. But Ector is after something greater than helping Merlin. Ector has set out to help his master. He needs to find a great tool to free his master. This tool is the key to saving Merlin also. Though Merlin is not wise and uses the tool foolishly he has ruined the use of it. There is still hope though, Ector says he knows a way to heal Merlin from his life threatening curse. They must travel through a mirror that passes through time. Find out what happens to young Merli?. Does he get his sword? Who is Ectors master? My opinion on this book is that it is great. That is why I give it a four out of five star rating. This book did lack a little in length, it only took me about four hours to read. Trust me, I consider my self a slow reader. Some things that are great about this book include: suspense , characterization, the way T. A. Barron describes things is incredible, the mystery in this book is great also. And last but not least, is the action. The shear action in this book is wonderful, it includes great details of battles and unbelievable creatures. This book is all together fascinating. The only problem is the length. Besides that this book is probably one of the best books I will read in a long time. I'm already on my way to go buy the fifth book already.
Rating: Summary: The Best Installment Yet Review: This guy did it again! Seriously, I don't know how he manages to write this well! Readers who have followed Merlin's journey through the last 3 books will be quite surprised at the many plot twists packed in this great installment. It's a real whammy of an ending! There's only one thing wrong with this book: It's the second to last in the series! In an era where real storytellers are as rare as goldmines, this beautiful series will be missed
Rating: Summary: Five stars for the book that lives up to it's name... Review: This is an amazing book about a great sorcerer named Merlin who treks into the swamps called the Haunted Marsh. In the middle of the swamp he finds a large mirror that is said to have the ability to tell you what the future has in stored for you. With the help of a big giant, a very strange looking creature named a ballymag, a deer-woman named Hallia, and of course, his trusty staff, he experiences numerous adventures in the book to try to find the mirror. But if he were to look at the reflection, he would find a person looking back at him that he would least expect to see.
