Rating: Summary: What a book! Review: Margaret Peterson Haddix is a wonderful author. Actually, she is my favorite! Among the Hidden is set in any town, anytime. The protagonist is Luke Garner. Luke is the third child in is family in a society where third children are illegal. Luke is forced to remain hidden indoors until the day he dares to venture out into the world to meet another third child. The author's tone is edge-of-your-seat entertainment. It is told in third person and addresses governmental propaganda issues. Anyone who enjoys cliff-hanging chapters and getting personally caught up in a story will love this book.
Rating: Summary: Weak Beginning but Strong, Action Packed Ending Review: Overall I loved Among the Impostors. The book started really slow, but towards the end it was one of those books I couldn't put down! My advice: Read Among the Hidden before you read Among the Impostors and after Among the Impostors read Among the Betrayed!!
Rating: Summary: Book 2 keeps the momentum Review: Sometimes in a series, there are lag books...books that exist only for background or to set up a climax in a third or later book. However, Haddix does a great job to keep the momentum started in "Among the Hidden" (also a 5 star review). In this book, Luke, using a hidden ID card is at a boarding school...and he really begins to understand what his friend Jen had meant when she had said that she would rather risk her life than live as someone she wasn't. Too old for my 3rd graders, but perfect for grade 5 and above.
Rating: Summary: Among the Impostors Review: The book Among the Impostors is written by Margaret Peterson Haddix. She writes about a boy named Luke who has taken the secret identity of Lee Grant, because he is an illegal third child and is hiding from the population police. When he arrives at Hendricks School for Boys he thinks that this will be a new adventure for him. After he meets Rolly, and a bunch of other boys he knows that he will be in for a lot of trouble because they are mean and secretive. After the weeks he had been there, trying to figure out his schedule and trying to make a friend, he still didn't get it. One day, he was wandering to find his class when he found a door that was cracked open ajar. There was a bright light shining through the door. He decided to sneak out. It was like heaven to him. He hadn't been outside since he lived at home and the woods were behind his house, but then they tore down the woods and he wasn't allowed to go outside anymore. After that day at school since he had been outside and he hadn't gotten in trouble, he decided that he was going to do that every day. You will have to read this amazing book to find out if he gets discovered by the population police or if he will be continuing his little visits outside in enjoyment by himself. This book catches you in the decisions that Lee has to make. You travel with him and see what being a third illegal child would be like. I recommend this book to any reader who is looking for a book that has a weird twist in the end and is entertained by jam packed action books.

Rating: Summary: This is one of the best books I've ever read !!!!!! Review: This book tells you what it would be like if there were only 2 children to be allowed in each family in the U.S. When Luke's sad your sad, and when he's happy and full of joy, so are you. You feel as if your really there, just a stander by of this curious and exciting tale of an enchanting story! Once you start reading you can't stop because it's that good!!
Rating: Summary: Among the amazing! Review: This book was about a boy who was the third child and beacuse of the population law he has to be kept in hiding (the population law was 2 kids per parents)but at the end of the first book in the series (among the hidden)he gets a new identity, his new identy is Lee Grant. The former Lee Grant had died in a skiing accident and so Luke (that was the main charater's name before he got his new ID)got his identity. Luke then goes to an all boys school. He later in the book (when he is walking to one of his classes one day) finds a door outside and he goes out there and after a few times of going outside (like different days) he plants a garden out there (which he was very excited about, because he didnt have all that many friends at his new school and since he was in hiding so long, he finally had something of his very own)but one day when he went out there to work more on the garden he relized that his garden had been destroyed. He plans on finding out who destroyed it and one day when he went back out there he had heard a group of people talking about him (there was some girls too because they had came over from the all girls school to have a little private meeting with some of the boys at the all boys school). And then later on he finds out that that group was also people that were in hiding. Luke becomes friends with them. I dont want to say anymore because I dont want to give away the ending. But I must say that this book has a very suprising ending and I think that most of you would enjoy this book alot. I thought that this book was great! I loved right from the beginning. I liked how it gave so much detail in the story and how descriptive it was. I was one of those books where once you start it you cant put it down. But I would definently read the first book in the series (among the hidden) first because this book pretty much takes off right where that one ends.
