Summary: A great book
Review: I think that Terry Brooks is a writer that should go down in the history books. The Wishsong of Shannara is one of the BEST books I read. Everything from the realistic world to the personality on the Ohmsford family are so detailed it seems like you are there.

Summary: brooks did a beautiful job, as usual
Review: I have read all the Shannara books including First King of Shannara and this is one of my favorites. Sure, he has a similar plot line as the first two, but i think that this just makes it more of a series-type story. You know, "let's see what will happen to the Shannara blood-line now". The introduction of both the moorcat and Garet Jax makes this one of the top books i've read. i've read other books by this author as well as some by Robert Jordan, Robert Asprin, and Piers Anthony. They are all wonderful writers.

Summary: A Good Book
Review: Although Brooks seems to always repeat the main ideas of his earlier books (you know, Allanon asks Ohmsfords to help him with their magic to destroy something nobody believes in...), the story remains good. This book was better than The Sword of Shannara but didn't quite live up to Elfstones. Still, the idea of the Wishsong was unique and Garet Jax was a nice touch. I recommend this book to all fantasy fans.

Summary: And Here Comes Another Boring Book from Terry Brooks...
Review: "Sword of Shannara" was a piece of crap for me, but after "Elfstones..." (i like this book very much)i hoped that "Wishsong..." would be much better. But... it isn't so. Practically, this is the book about nothing. Brooks tried to investigate the depths of mind and soul of his characters and their psychology, but his pathetic efforts only made me laugh. And it take too much place in the book - that's why it's SOOOOOOOOOO boring... After i read the "Wishsong of Shannara", i decided to stop with the reading of the rest of "Shannara" series - i'm tired of this boring books.(But "Elfstones..." was the great book ...)

Summary: Brooks' Best work yet
Review: While Mr. Brooks sometimes suffers from repeating himself in overall setting and plot, that doesn't detract from the epic story he has here. In my opinion, this is the culmination of his career, never to be matched again. For though Wishsong is similar to Sword and Elfstones, Brooks adds in the character that throws Wishsong over the top: Garet Jax. I can say either little about him or write a book, so I shall restrain myself. Suffice to say that Garet Jax is the person that we all wanted to be, but never were. He is a Hero in the true sense of the word. Add in Brooks' masterful storytelling and wonderful style and you have a fantasy masterpiece.

Summary: THE ABSOLUTE BEST OF SHANNARA!!!!!

Summary: escape the doldrums of reality's realm
Review: Once again, I read a trilogy backwards, seeing as I was four when this was published. I like the idea of the story and the characters and the general nonsense of the book. It's easy to read during a boring class or in the wee hours of the morning when you need to get away from the realm of reality.

Summary: The best of the three
Review: With the third book in the Shannara series, Terry Brooks finally manages to put all of his talents together. The first book in the series was not very well-written, but was propelled by an exciting story. The second book was much better written, but lacked the sheer readibility of the first. In Wishsong, Brooks puts these two talents together to create an exciting story that is also very well-written and populated by interesting, and for the most part, well-developed characters. As well as being a good fantasy series, the first three Shannara books are also an interesting study in Brooks' development as a writer

Summary: More of the same
Review: Though I liked the first two, I am generally tired of Brook's format. A Character(s) is taken from a small town, and gathers together a small party in order to find an artifact that will banish evil, while armies battle it out elsewhere. It seems that it's the same story with different characters and locales. Read Elfstones of Shannara, but leave this one
