Summary: A good story
Review: I throughly enjoyed this book. I was hooked from the first page forward. My only disappointment was that it is the first book of a new series. I have read the other Shannara books but not for awhile and found that Terry Brooks has written a brand new story that is easy to read and understand even if you have not read any of the other Shannara series. However, if you have not read the other books in this series, please treat yourself and do so as soon as possible

Recomended, The Price of Immortaliy is a book well worth reading

Summary: Very good book, I can't wait to read the next
Review: Terry Brooks has ventured once more into his world of Shannara taking to the air in the first of his series of the Voyage of the Jerle Shannara. His last attempt at writing a series, The Heritage of Shannara, was not up to his usual standard of excellance. But the depth of characters and never ending action leaves you thirsty for more when you finish the last page of this one. Familiar names and places have turned up with refreshing twists to the tale, bundle this together with a new area and a new transport method, Brooks has ventured into the unknown with resounding success. If you are a Shannara fan you won't be dissappointed. I have been involved with fantasy for nearly 20 years and Terry Brooks has been inspiring new and different twists to the now popular genre. This one is no different and science and magic are combined to make this book a compelling read taking fantasy into a new era of unexplored territory.

Recomendations, The Price of Immortality, swords of life and death series

Summary: People consider this book "Fast paced"?
Review: This is not fast paced. The only good part is towards the end, and the only reason that I even had enough patience to get to the end in the first place is because I was sick with a fever. I wouldn't be willing to ever re-read this book again, and plus it was one event after another, not like twisting and turning plots that encircle each other like every fantasy should have. Plus there was a cliffhanger. I'm not gonna read the second installment in the trilogy, because I don't have enough patience to go through more and more fluff like there was in this book.

Summary: Outstanding Terry Brooks
Review: Terry Brooks! Is there more to say? Those who have read his work know of the great detail and action that he brings. Terry Brooks gives you the wanting to read his next book. The Voyage of Jerle Shannara: Ilse Witch is outstanding. It is a great start off for the series. The series gets even better with volume two! I enjoyed it very much.

Summary: He's definitely going back on my bookshelf
Review: Wow...I am not even halfway finished and I am completely impressed. I haven't read his books in 6 years and this one took me completely by surprise. I didn't even know he had written another one! Kudos and please hurry with the 3rd book! I actually read the 2nd one first!

Summary: Back to the Basics!
Review: A return to vintage Terry Brooks. After the Good and Evil series, which was good, The Voyage of the Jerle Shannara is a return to Greatness. A return to great character development -- Alannon is reborn in Walker (He is the man)! The rovers (Big and Little Red) really came to life in my imagination. A "must read" for Brooks' fans.

Conclusion:
I have ridden the Jerle Shannara!!!

Summary: The Best Book Ever
Review: I Think the way he wrote this book was very good. The way he used his metaphors and his alliteration. I also recomend it to many people.

Summary: Bewitched by another of Terry Brooks' novels
Review: What can I say to get you to buy this novel? You like fantasy Books?.. Then this novel is a winner. Although this novel is a setup for sequels,it's plot is still incredibly interesting and exciting. At the end of the novel, I was begging for more (story).....I don't think I'm going to be able to wait until the sequel "..Antrax" comes out in paperback 8/02; In my opinion, that's what makes this novel a sure winner. See, sequels are not necessarily bad...unless you do not like to read.

Summary: Ilse Witch
Review: Although not the best Shanarra book, Ilse Witch is still an excelent novel. I think that the inclusion of technology in the series is an interesting twist, and although it was a bit of an awkward addition to the series, it is done in the context of the series.
There has always been mention that the Old World technology was still alive somewhere in the world, from the very first appearance of a creeper, in what I believe was the first book, and there have been several small references since then, so this, although probably not executed in the best way, is not an entirely unexpected twist in the Shannara series.
