Rating: Summary: The best of Shannara Review: The Sword of Shannara was a clumsy but promising attempt at a fantasy novel; the Wishsong of Shannara was an ill-conceived attempt to continue the saga. The Elfstones of Shannara is a marvelous epic that shouldn't be missed.Everything from the depth of the characters to the descriptions of the heroic battle with Demons is wonderfully done. Battles without and within must be fought, and worthy adversaries must be overcome. The ending is unexpected and deeply affecting. It's not strictly necessary to read the first book in the series. Start here.
Rating: Summary: Just Love It! Review: This is an exquizit book and it just absorbs your mind with a powerful bond which you can't break away from. A great part was when Wil is struggling with his Elfstones, to call out the power of the back of his mind to the little blue spheres. He is face to face with the monster that has tracked him an Amberle for so long, as he lifts his hand towards the evil beast.......
Rating: Summary: Excellant and Captivating! Review: Excellant characters, excellant story line, and over and excellant book! I just started reading Terry Brooks' Shannara series and I'm really impressed. But out of the three, the Elfstones of Shannara is definately the best.
Rating: Summary: it was the greatest fantasy novel ever written!!! Review: i read this book recently and absolutely loved it!!! the end just blew my mind. the story of wil and amberle is very compelling. the detail with which the author described everything is so real.
Rating: Summary: Outstanding Overall Story Development Review: Brooks had me in a strangle-hold from the start to the finish of this marvelous story. In certain parts throughout the story, I was truly frightened for Wil and Amberle, who constantly had the Reaper on their heals. Wonderfully vivid descriptions of the agonizing deaths of the Elves grab your imagination and also depict the true hatred the Demons bore for the Elves. This is truly fantasy-horror literature at it's finest!
Rating: Summary: The best book, for all types of readers Review: This is undoubtedly the best book I have ever read. The plot is filled with discriptiveness which makes feel as if you are one of elves fighting along side the brave elves against the uncountable number of demons which threaten the whole world. Perhaps it will make you feel as if you are one of the main characters such as, Wil Ohmsford, Amberle Elessidil or The druid Allanon. My point is this book is mainly a fantasy/action adventure, but it also has a hint of romance, mystery and even Drama. This book is a must read for all types of readers.
Rating: Summary: Great Review: I loved this book. I'm currently looking for other books written by Terry Brooks.
Rating: Summary: stunning, spactackuler, recomend to all. Review: great it was one of his best novels ever. if a fan get this book
Rating: Summary: Best book in the Shannara series Review: Brooks diplays his best combination of ignoring Tolkien (unlike 'The Sword') and including a ton of original ideas (unlike what follows). The villains are the best the series has to offer, and the battle scenes are magnificent. I suspect this book would read well as a standalone novel, though I started with the first.
Rating: Summary: If you read the first, You must read this one! Review: This book was a really great book, not as good as the first one, but great none-the-less. I really loved how it explaned all the things that were just briefly talked about in "The Sword of Shannara." I also liked how the book just caught my attention from the very begining, like the first one, I couldn't put it down. I really like the war scenes with the Elven and Demon armies, and how the Druid Allanon worked his magic in those scenes. This book took me on twist and turns I never expected, I didn't know what was going to happen next. This is a must read book, and a great addition to any collection.
