Summary: Unable to be put down...
Review: This is quite possibly the fastest time I've ever gotten through a book. I've always been a great fan of R.A. Salvatore's and the characters he creates. Rangers are a specific favorite of mine ever since Drizzt Do'Urden. Now he introduces us to Elbryan Wyndon who is so engrossing to read about that it may quite frankly scare you. The action in this book forces you to keep reading. I read it in a couple of days. In school, I read it in every class and at home I locked myself in my room and refused to come out. It is a maelstrom of action and adventure where you battle demons, evil monks, and big, ugly giants.

Summary: Predlude makes great ending
Review: After reading every Shannara book from the Sword to the Talismans, I was glad to discover the prelude to the 7-book series. It tells of the destruction of Paranor and the near extinction of the Druids, as well as the creation of the Sword of Shannara and the beginning of the family line. All of these factors are hinted at in the first 7, but are detailed in full in this book, especially the beginnings of Allanon. Terry Brooks is one of my favorite authors, and I hope he writes more books involving this enchanting series

Review: An amazing prequel to an unbelievably great series. The First King of Shannara weaves a stirring tale that leaves you guessing. Terry Brooks creates a fantasy world with elegant prose and characters you really care about. With a mixture of vivid action and moving drama this book has to be one of the best books I've ever read. I highly recommend The First King of Shannara or any book in this series. Terry Brooks , you are the Man!

Summary: I had a liver transplant and all that I could do was read.
Review: In 1995, I (who is 13) had a liver transplant and I could notdo any physical activities. My dad picked me up books when I was inthe hospital. The first book my dad read to me was the First King Of Shannara. It took us three weeks, but by then I could read it myself. It was a truly awesome experence to learn what people can do when they put their mind to it. I think that is what helped me through the transplant.

Review: This was the first Shannara book I read and I found that even though I knew nothing of the setting, I could still understand what was happening. The development of the characters was extremely well done and the mysteries still left over make me want to read the rest of the series. A definite read, especially for Shannara fans

Review: Terry Brooks' works of fantasy fiction have always had me on the edge of my seat, unable to put his books down. The First King of Shannara is no exception.
You simply *know a book is good when it gives you goose bumps and a smile crosses your face when you read about the little boy named "Allanon". It was such a great feeling to see where all of the ancient (and previously only talked about) characters in the Shannara line came from. This book is truly a work of art, and once again Brooks continues to amaze me.
This is definitely a 10 out of 10 novel.

Review: Terry Brooks does it again with the prelude saga of the Shannara origin. This book answers all of those interesting questions raised in the other Shannara trilogy. Where Bremen came from, the origin of the Sword of Shannara, the Black elfstone, and other interesting origins of other characters. Many exciting battles are fought between orc, trolls, gnomes, elves, and dwarves. Along with use of blue druids fire and evil Warlock black magic. Read it today!
