Summary: Rather weak ending to the series
Review: I am an avid fan of Terry Brooks. I have purchased nearly everything he has published in hardback, minus film adaptations, since he published the Sword of Shannara in the late seventies. It is, therefore, with great sorrow that I give this book less than a sterling review.
Overall, the characters of this series are very compelling. It makes reading the epic rather easy and keeps up the readers interest.
The problem is that much of the book is predictable, with some elements being almost condescending. The epic journey of the hero is largely reduced to formula, as if the author needed to find a way to finish the series, but could not figure out a way to say it in a reasonable amount of words.
Some of the character interaction is a bit too stilted, and plot points turn without much motivation or development. As the reader has invested quite a bit of time getting to this point, it is forgiveable to an extent.
If you have already invested time in the first few books of this series, you will do well to finish it off. The ending gives a lot of promise to what will undoubtably unfold in the next book Terry writes (due out this fall). If you have never read a Terry Brook's book (unlikely if you are considering this as your first work), you would do well to skip this, at least for now, and move back to the Sword of Shannara and read all the way through the Talisman of Shannara (the fourth book in the Heritage of Shannara series).
Morgawr is not a back work of Fantasy, but Terry Brooks has done so much better with his series in the past that it is really disappointing that this one had few of the surprises and twists of his earlier works.

Summary: Did I miss Something?
Review: I've read all of his work to date and am a huge fan. This is truley the first time I was disappointed with one of his series. Most of his series are stories within a story. This was one however was a continuous long droning story. The first book was disappointing. The second picked up some speed and I thought the story had been salvaged. Then the third ... well, here it is ... usually I read brooks in a couple of days. Non-stop ... can't rip it out of my hands if you tried. With this book, I had to force myself to read it and stay focused. I could be seen throwing it down more then picking it up. I didn't connect with any of the characters and found it completely predictable. Very disappointed! Hopefully it gets better ... I loved his other works. I guess everyone is entitled to a bad one every once in a while. reminds us no one is perfect and we're all human.

Summary: Not his best, but not his worst
Review: Let's start with positive:
The story flows well, nothing happening to abrutply that was not established in the previous books of the series
didn't skip anything critical
kept the plot where it was going, didn't have the characters go anywhere they shouldn't have
enough plot twists, but not to the point where I was confused
a nice conclusion, tightly wrapped with a well-written final confrontation

Now the negative
It seemed very much to me like he was trying to cram to much in too little, like trying to fit an elephant in the trunk of a mini-van. I think that it was a miracle that he was able to find his way to the climax from the worst case scenario in 100 pages, that is what I'm talking about when I say crammed, almost, but not, to the point where it seemed almost lazy not to add the vivid details clearly placed in his previous works.
The relationship, as there is in most, if not all, his works, is quite possibly the most cheesy of them all. This is the only exception to the way the book flows. Though it seemed genuine, it seemed to appear almost out of nowhere. If you've seen hints of it in the previous books of the series, the jump the relationship takes is nowhere near the magnitiude it is in the third book. I think it would be best if he had omitted the whole part because it almost seemed imaginary, taking shape with little focus on it in the last 200 pages.

Overview
All in all it was a great way of putting it all together. I enjoyed the book very much and thought it another good finish.
Not his best, but certainly not his worst.
Some advice to people reading the negative reviews, (anything given a 2 to a 1) I would say the authors of those reviews concentrated completly on the negative. Those authors seem to neglect and/or take for granted that all the books are great works of literature.(note their lack of punctuation and neglect for proper grammer and sentance construction)

Summary: Classic
Review: Excellent, as are all of Terry Brooks' Shannara writings.

Summary: Great Ending to a Great Series
Review: While I was a bit disappointed with the first book in the series, I thought I would stick around for the second book. I am glad I did. I thought that the second book created a nice blend of character development and action that carried over nicely to the third installment. Overall, I thought that Morgawr was the best in the series. The mixture of adventure, character development/ self-realization and romance was perfect for the ending to a series I enjoyed immensely. Thank you Terry for another great escape into the Shannara world!

Summary: A pitiful conclusion to a substandard series
Review: I'm rather astonished that this is the same Terry Brooks that wrote the original three Shannara novels. I don't usually say this, but this series really did come across as a cash grab. Each book is roughly 200 pages shorter than earlier novels, and with fewer lines per page.

But these are technical details.

The story itself started out well enough in the first book. The usual search for treasure in a distant land, leading to conflict and adventure. A small handful of interesting characters are introduced.

Now, book three. By the end, all those interesting characters will either be dead or altered beyond recognition. Through great leaps in logic at various crucial moments, those remaining characters we knew would survive, survive.

Don't get me wrong, I'm a big fan of Terry's earlier books, particularly Elfstones which was one of the best works of fantasy ever written. At best, I found this book to be insulting.

I would give it 0/5 if I could.

Summary: Great final...
Review: Well this is another great book of the Shannara series. It's the best from the "Voyage of Jerle Shannara". It's one of the best Shanara books, infact. It has a lot of action, tremendous battle and really good character development.
With one word - perfect. Brooks is a Master of Fantasy.

Summary: Good book
Review: Great book, took forever to finally come out with the last book, but it was well worth the wait.

Summary: A great end to a nice series
Review: This is what Shannara needed...just a tiny little bit more to the story. The last book left off kind of abruptly, so this 3 book series makes a nice end to it. In this book, all the questions the other 2 have raised are finally answered, with many surprises and twists.

Summary: Sadness fills my heart to post this review
Review: I hoped, I prayed and look what I am at now: typing this review...

The first was acceptable, the second needed help.
But this one takes the cake as probably one of Terry's worst books to date!
Probably my expectations were too high, given Terry's obvious talents, but to publish such a work? Scandalous!!

Honestly, this book fall flat. It was supposed to be the climax of the series but was actually the dullest of the lot. Well, I really hope the next series will be better.

Alas, I must still finish this review....
I give it the...rating of :( aka 2 stars.
