Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Excellent Review: Terry Brooks hasn't failed to deliver starting from when I was 12 Years old (Sword of Shannara). This work as usuall is hauntingly beautiful and completely unforgetable. As well it leaves me craving any more Shannara releases in the future. As far as the Tolkien comparisons........anything beyond the races is pure imagination. Tolkien had tendencies to leave me bored....as Brooks has always kept my attention. Don't get me wrong...I love Tolkien for what he began.....but just like Japan with American Technology....there is always room for improvement. I would recommend this book for anyone and everyone...as well as all the other Shannara books....you will not be dissapointed. Thanks Mr. Brooks for offering us all a chance to escape from this mundane world for a short time and share yours with you.
Rating: ![3 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-3-0.gif) Summary: It's been a while, but I didn't think it was anything much.. Review: I read this book a while ago, but I thought I'd drop in my two cents. As I recall, it was somewhat weak, a fact made all the more annoying by the fact that I read the first and second books and enjoyed them, and then I had to wait for this one to come out... Gah, I don't want to write anymore...
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Still the Best Review: Once again Terry Brooks has proven he is still one of the top fantasy fiction writers. This trilogy started out slowly but got better with each book. Morgawr finishes it off with a typical Terry Brooks finish. The only negative thing I can say is that he left a few threads hanging. Hopefully he will pick up on those in his next book.
Rating: ![3 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-3-0.gif) Summary: Nothing special Review: I have mixed feelings about this book. It seems like a great deal of space was taken up saying not a lot. There were good aspects to the book but it failed to live up to the first two. I found that the most interesting characters who made the earlier books so engrosing were all killed off leaving behind the tedious, uninspiring ones. I am completely bored with the Ohmsford hero who seems to be exactly the same in every book Brooks writes. I had high hopes for Grianne but she spent most of the book comatose, only returning for some sappiness with her brother and the fairly pedictable conclusion. It is an enjoyable enough book but slightly disappointing and I found myself missing Walker the whole way through.
Rating: ![1 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-1-0.gif) Summary: One star Review: Terry Brooks stopped writing engaging fantasy after he finished the first Magic Kingdom novel. The rest has been typical, sub-par, fantasy fare, on par with the average romance novel. Anyone who thinks otherwise should expand their library.
Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: Good Finish To Great Series Review: This book was a good finish to a series that expanded quite a bit on the world of Shannara that Brooks created in his previous series. These characters are a slight departurre from the ones typically seen in his series, but in a good way. The only problem I had was that I think that Brooks could have included one more chapter, the end wraps things up well, but some parts could have used a little elaboration--unless, of course, he's planning another series with these characters.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Great ending to a great trilogy ... Review: I love all of the Shanarra books, and this one is no exception. Terry Brooks had me sitting on the edge of my seat wanting to find out what happens next. While the ending was a little more abrupt than I'd have liked, it does set the stage for more books - which according to his Web site will start coming out in 2004. Yaay!
Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: Great Stuff Review: This series has renewed my faith in Terry Brooks. The last series of Shannara books were too long and meandered waaaaay too much. This trilogy was well paced. Be warned, it is fairly gruesome, at times bordering on horror, but worth the time to read. I finished this book in two days because I couldn't put it down.
Rating: ![1 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-1-0.gif) Summary: same old same old Review: I have been a Brooks fan since I was 16 and fell in love with the Sword of Shannara - Unfortunately his latest trilogy fizzles out about half way through Antrax. The overall story line is good albeit somewhat predictable - unfortunately all of the characters are the same - constantly filled with self doubt, constantly going over the same old ground page after page after page... This series should have been edited down into one book - then it would have really been a nice story! As it stands it is a mediocre story mired in a bunch of fluff. Brooks has never been a "trilogy" writer. By and large all of the Shannara and Landover books can stand on their own. - He and DelRey are definitely milking it for the extra cash....
Rating: ![1 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-1-0.gif) Summary: Same story, differnet names Review: I am dissapointed by the Voyage of Jerle Shannara set. Its the same story (Brin and Jair) of The Wishsong. Sister is caught up by evil, brother has to save her. A Druid dies, another takes over. It seems the plot was just twisted a little bit and the names were changed. The first 10 books were ok, the rest have much to be desired.
