Summary: Amazingly better than the original
Review: In Ender's Shadow, Card bests his his parallel novel, Ender's Game. By seeing the same storyline through the even smaller Bean's eyes, the reader learns so much more about the natural humanity existing in the children of the Battle School, and how their microcosm simulates real life children. If you liked Ender's Game, and were yearning for more of the psychological aspects of Ender and his various interactions with peers, authority, and even more so when the two clash.

Much more humanistic than the original, Ender's Shadow is not repetitive of Ender's Game, it builds on aspects only just begun in the original.

For someone who does not consider myself a sci fi fan, by any means...I LOVED THIS BOOK!

Summary: ALL GOOD THINGS MUST COME TO AN END
Review: FIRST OF ALL LET ME STATE THAT I THOROUGHLY ENJOY READING CARD. HE'S ONE OF MY FAVORITE SF WRITERS. THAT SAID ITS TIME TO PUT THIS PUPPY TO BED. WHAT STARTED OUT AS A GREAT FIRST BOOK, THAT PUT CARD ON THE MAP, HAS NOW DRAGGED OUT OVER 5 BOOKS. I READ THE SEQUEL TO ENDER'S GAME AND WAS DISAPPOINTED. I HAVEN'T READ THE NEXT TWO IN THE SERIES, THOUGH I HAVE THEM AT HOME. I WAS INTRIGUED BY ENDER'S SHADOW THOUGH AND PLOWED RIGHT THROUGH IT. THE BOOK LACKED THE OVERALL EXCITEMENT OF ENDER'S GAME, BUT DUE TO CARD'S WONDERFUL COMMAND OF THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE, I FOUND IT TO BE A WORTHWHILE READ. PLEASE ORSON, END THIS SERIES NOW. THE SAME CAN BE SAID FOR HIS TAILS OF ALVIN MAKER SERIES. THE FIRST (3) BOOKS WERE WONDERFUL (5 STARS). THEN UNDER PRESSURE FROM HIS FANS HE DECIDED TO CONTINUE THE STORY. THE LAST (2) BOOKS HAVE BEEN BAD! ESPECIALLY THE LAST BOOK. IN IT ALVIN IS NO CLOSER TO ACHIEVING HIS GOAL OF BUILDING THE CRYSTAL CITY THAN BEFORE THE BOOK BEGAN. ITS AS THOUGH HE DECIDES TO TAKE A QUICK VACATION FROM HIS QUEST. I DON'T WANT MR. CARD TO SUFFER THE SAME FATE AS LARRY NIVEN AND JERRY POURNELLE. THEIR SEQUEL TO A MOTE IN GODS' EYE (ONE OF THE BEST SF BOOKS EVER!), WAS TERRIBLE! SO TOO WAS THEIR SEQUEL TO THE THE LEGACY OF HEROT (GREAT BOOK!), BEAUWOLF'S CHILDREN (SP?). AND FINALLY SO WAS NIVEN'S RECENT DISASTER RINGWORLD THRONE. MY ADVISE TO MR. CARD IS TO KEEP PUSHING THE ENVELOPE ON NEW IDEAS, THE LIKES OF WHICH WE SAVE IN WYRMS, AND A PLANET CALLED TREASON. BOTH UNIQUE AND VERY GOOD BOOKS.

Summary: Awesome book!
Review: I am a 13 year old, and a fan of the Ender series. I thought the first book, Ender's Game, was a great book, and an even better Christmas Gift. This book brought me back to the times of Ender, and yet throught the eyes of the best written character, Bean.

Summary: Please end the Ender series!
Review: This book is merely another in a "series" of examples why some authors should immediately stop writing sequels -- at least while they're still behind. I wish the Ender series would finally end! (And I had wished that after reading the third book.)

(Glad I borrowed this one too from the library.)

Summary: Ender's Shadow is a good shadow to be in...
Review: I've read both Ender books now and found the first one superior, but Ender's Shadow is well worth your time. It takes you on a parallel but separate journey from Ender with Bean as the new hero. If you haven't read Ender's Game, I think you should do so before going on to this book because it gives you some of the subtext which you otherwise would not notice. And if you thought Ender's Game was a very good book, you should find this one nearly as good.

Summary: ONE OF THE BEST WORKS TO DATE!
Review: Hooray for Scott Card! Enders Shadow is one of his best works to date. Card has a way of grabbing the reader from page one and not letting them go! He is one of the greatest storytellers of our time and fans of the Ender series will love it, and this book will gain new fans as well! He takes the reader back to the time of the first Novel (Enders Game) but in the perspective of Bean. I thought that it would be a bad idea and the story wouldnt have any new elements to it. Wrong! card is a great story writer and gives fans a fresh feel to the Ender Series. This will be a classic and should be read by EVERYONE!

Summary: Enders Shadow
Review: orson Scott card has a way of grabbing the reader from the very first page and doesn't let them go! Fans of Enders game will love this book! When I first picked this title up, i was wonfering if it was possible to go back and write a story about a sub character in Enders Game. Card does this beautifuly, he brings fresh new life to the Enders series while still holding onto that same feel of the first book. This is a must read for science fiction fans and non-sf fans alike. Hooray for Enders Shadow and I applaud card for writing yet another great novel for all to enjoy and love!

Summary: Card has done it again!
Review: There are only two types of books I review. The very worst and the very best. I try to help other people avoid buying any book I disliked. This is a great example of one of the best books I have read.

If you have read Ender's Game, this is a MUST READ! Ender's Shadow compliments Ender's game. It fills you in on some of the details missed in Ender's Game. The characters have depth, the writing is magnificent, and trust me. You will not want to put this book down.

If you have not yet read Orson Scott Card's Ender's Game, Ender's Shadow is still a good book. Or so I have heard. Most people have already read Ender's Game before Ender's Shadow. If you are not sure, read Ender's Game first. I promise. You will not regret reading Ender's Game or Ender's Shadow. Card has taken a very difficult(in my humble opinion) topic, writing the award winning Ender's Game in the perspective of another key character, Bean. If you have already read Ender's Game, when Bean meets Ender, the reading slows a bit, but Card has made it interesting by filling details missed in Ender's Game.

I strongly suggest you buy this book. If you still aren't sure, then by all means wait until it's paperback, but either way. Trust me on this. You will not be disappointed. Well, I hope not anyways.

Summary: Much of the Ending Feels Like Revisionist History
Review: I'd rate the first half of this book 4 1/2 stars. Rotterdam, the Clean Place, and Bean's early days at Battle School are wonderful story lines. This is all new information which greatly compliments Ender's Game. However, from the point Bean and Ender meet up, the book becomes primarily a different perspective on the exact same sequence of events. While Bean's supreme brilliance is repeatedly tempered by the fact he lacks Ender's leadership skills, it still cheapens Ender's legend and feels like revisionist history. Ender's Shadow is still a fun read and a must-have for fans. I am hoping for more completely new stuff concerning Bean's return to Earth.

Summary: Best book since Enders Game
Review: My expectations where met to the fullest when I read this book. It has opened up a totaly new style of writing. I was'nt sure if it would be interesting, since I already new the ending. But Orson S. Card has done it again, and it was almost as good as Eders Game. A great book, very well writen, you won't be able to put it down.
