Summary: middle of the road
Review: Not great, but not awful. I found too much of the humor in the book was self-conscious or forced. I am a big fan of the Sandman series, but found nothing of that exceptional talent at work here. Good for a plane trip.

Review: I STRONGLY agree with that 'reader from Washington' who commented on Jack Nicholson playing Crowly! Even though I'm only halfway through the book, I fell in love with the characters, (Aziraphale & Crowly;am I the only one to mention the angel?:) they're incredibly funny. As I was reading the book I could actually see it as a film, it would make a great movie. But, as most books like this go unnoticed by the big shots in Hollywood, it will probably; A: never be a movie. or B: Script Writers will SLAUGHTER it. It's really sad, 'B' describes what befell "The Lost World," which I still get mad about. One thing, I wish they would have left the original cover on the paperback, it was SOOO cool! Summary: This book is amazing - go read it!
Review: I'm a huge Pratchett and Gaiman fan anyway, so when I heard they'd combined in a book, I knew I had to find it. And, in the words of Shakespeare's Hippolyta, This is the silliest stuff that ever I heard. But it's brilliant! Nobody defines characters like Gaiman, nobody is quite as wackily hilarious as Pratchett. Gaiman enters just enough eerie weirdness into the book to perfectly counter Pratchett's craziness. But please stop relating it to Douglas Adams, it's nothing like him! And I don't know what anyone else thinks (e-mail me with your opinions please) but I think that in the sequel Crowley and Aziraphale would be really cute together....but anyway. Buy it, read it, love it.

Summary: Run don't walk, away from this book.
Review: If you have read all of the other reveiws of this book you can now disregard them. The reveiwers must be serious binge drinkers. If your expecting Douglas Adams type humor in this book you'd be better of finding it in an L. Ron Hubbard book. I am a fan of Neil Gaiman's and thoughly enjoyed Neverwhere and his Sandman graphic novels, but this book was not in his style, and not up to par with his other works. This book was very predictable to say the least. The humor was stale, and the characters were lame. Save your money. This book isn't worth the paper it's printed on.

Summary: Satan better hope that Terry Pratchett is wrong
Review: I disagree with the reviewer who said that the devout would hate this book. The self-righteous and those who believe that they have a direct pipeline to the Almighty will hate this book but for those who understand that claiming to know the mind of God is blasphemy and who understand that humor (though possibly ironic) is a Divine attribute rather than a demonic one, Good Omens is a screaming delight. Satan was, before the New Testement, one of God's associates. The relationship between the angel and the "demon" in Good Omens is theologically sound and howlingly funny. Read it and become enlightened.

Review: Armageddon meets the "Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy" -- what more can be said? Witty, clever humor combined with a completely bizarre premise. One of my few must-reads.

Review: This truly was a great book, and I liked it, I really did. However, Pratchett simply doesn't come close to my all-time favorite author, Douglas Adams. Please, please, please read Douglas Adams' books if you liked Good Omens-please.

Review: i loved this book from begining to end.its got to be one of the funniest books ive ever read. i have the hard back book and have just fineshed it about two seconds ago and enjoyed it alot. i only hope for a sequal. i think that a movie would be in order as well.this book doesnt deserve a ten it deserves a 100 or more i suggest this book for any one who loves to laugh because its ineffable you will

Summary: Revelations has nothing on Good Omens
Review: Brillent, hilarous, innovative, fresh.could describe (not as if these words don't) Giaman and Pratchett and Good Omens. But the thing is, there is so much more to it then that. i must addmit the ending kind of struck me as anti climactic but all in all it is the best book i have ever had the pleasure to read. This is the kind of book you by nurmerous copys of and force your freinds to read. Good Omens is not only the funnyest material and dare i say down right wacky at times, but it also includes (even if the authors wouldent addmit to it) alot of intelegent and thought provoking ideas about Heaven, Hell, God, fate, Life and even how many angels/devils you could fit on a match and which place (Heaven or Hell) has better eintertainment for the rest of your after life. i mean an angel and a demon drunk to no end, talking about dolphins monkeys and the rest of the fate of the world. Entertainment to its highest from. Art within itself. Giaman and Pratchett have done magic in writeing this book. Prue Magic.

Summary: I'm sorry, but I haven't found it funny at all.
Review: Let me start by saying that before I decided to post my own review, I read EVERY other review posted to see if anyone agreed with me. I was overwhelmed by a sea of "10's" and "9's" and was left wondering if perhaps I did not give the book a fair chance. The thing is, I am more than one half through the book and have not even begun to giggle. I do not find the jokes funny, and I have a wonderful sense of humor (which is why I bought the book and, unfortunately, it's empty promises). I understood all the innuendos and sarcasms. But, for example, I also found the numerous footnotes bland and disappointing, like much of what I have read from this book. Because not once was the humor surprising. I mean, nothing caught me off-guard, which would have really made me laugh out loud. Many times I shouted mental "Oh, Come on!" or "Oh, Please!" I have very much enjoyed Gaiman's previous works. In fact, "Neverwhere" is my favorite read. In my opinion, he should stick to dark fantasy, because this type of humor evidently does not agree with me. I give it a 4 because I am still waiting for those supposed "side-splitting" laughs.
