Summary: Enough humor to justify it?
Review: I was given the book as a gift by someone who knows I think Christianity is ridiculous. I read it, though I'd lost interest in fantasy. Yes, I suppose it's a humorous and irreverent twist on the Apocalypse. It's not an outright ridiculing parody of Christian beliefs. The humor is gleaned solely from the absurd characters and the absurd situations they get themselves into. Nothing is out-and-out "ha ha" funny. All the absurdity of the characters and events is portrayed as strictly routine and mundane. A strange technique for trying to elicit humor, and not completely successful. It hardly seemed worth the intellectual effort to try to figure out the central mystery contained within the plot twists. You're supposed to be engrossed enough to want to do it, but I wasn't. The style, with it's absurdity and hidden mystery, certainly owes alot to Douglas Adams. But it's the style of Adams in his non-Hitchhiker writing, which isn't nearly as satisfying. And so this book is only moderately satisfying. It would make for an interesting movie, though, what with the Millennium and all.

Summary: Simply Marvellous! (deserves capitals)
Review: The best work I ever read, hillarious! I just couldn't stop anymore and read it in one go. Now that I read the story already five times I still cannot - by no means - get bored by this really good piece of work! Read it and you will know what I mean...

Summary: A playful end to the world...?
Review: Crawley is a great character! A hip, up-to-date demon who does not really understand his fellow demons (nice artistry, but...); he and his angelic counterpart are in the same position as two Cold War agents, one CIA, one KGB, after antagonizing each other for years -- home base is far away and they know each other best. There are some passages in this book that will make you laugh out loud; there are others that will make you wonder just where they meant the book to go. It is that oddball form of Brit humour that informs _Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy_ and its ilk. The end is a bit of a let down, but the rest is fluffy and silly enough to keep you going for quite some time.

Summary: Good Omens is the best book I have ever read!
Review: A friend of mine recomended this book to me a few days ago. I thought it would be like most books and I would lay it down a few days after starting it and forget about it. I finished this book in 3 days! Good Omens is by far the best book I have ever read. A wonderful plot with alot of humor mixed in makes it impossible to set down. I definitely give this book 5 stars. Yesterday I picked up another book by Neil Gaiman, Neverwhere, and I am already half way done.

Summary: A let-down book with Terry Pratchett
Review: I read this book hoping to get the "Colour of Magic" or "The Light Fantastic" thrill of reading it, but was not impressed.

Summary: Conservatives cringe, Athiests laugh
Review: I love this book!! I thought the Disk was the only accomplishment of Terry, but this is exactly what I need. This story effectively makes all of my conservative christian friends uneasy. If you like the way that Terry shines a diffrent light on things you thought you knew all too well, and don't mind having a righteous good laugh at the expense of christian belifs,THIS IS IT!!!

Summary: I PREDICT A GOOD LAUGH!
Review: I just finished this book--in two days! Fans of Gaiman will, of course appreciate it, but, as the cover says, this is truly a "descendant" of the Hitchiker's Guide to the Galaxy. For those Douglas Adams fans waiting impatiently for the next bout of warped hilarity:READ THIS!

Summary: Have you ever really laughed...
Review: All I have is one question? Have you ever really laughed out loud while reading a book? I don't mean kinda chuckle to yourself a little. I mean have you ever had a gut-wrenching laugh over something you read? A laugh where people look at you like your going to die or go insane... if the answer is no or anywhere near it buy this book today and save your immortal soul with Crowley and the gang.

Summary: A Pratchett-Based Look at the Apocalypse!!!
Review: I loved this book. As a fan of Pratchett already, reading a non-discworldian book was a big step for me. I loved it all. From the Angel & Devil that were buddies, to the four hoursemen of the apocalypse. This is the kind of book that Christians should read with an open mind, and Athiests should read with a jeering smile on their faces. For more fun, read Revelation Immediately after you finish this and see how much you've learned!!

Summary: A side splitting, good natured romp through the end times.
Review: I've been a fan of Gaimen's comic book writing, he has not let me down yet.
