Rating: Summary: if you don't like this book, i fear for your mental health. Review: a hilarous and witty novel imagining a modern end of the world. complete with the 4 apocalypitc hoarsepersons, the "voice" of God, a little boy who may or may not be the anti-christ and his demonic hell hound dog, and Crowely, a fallen angel from hell (who actually did not fall so much as saunter vaguely downwards.)and a chours of characters that will keep you laughing until the untimely end.
Rating: Summary: It's the end of the world and I feel fine. Review: Funniest/best book of the decade. Have tested The Best of Queen theory several times and IT'S TRUE!!!! Must read for anyone with a finely tuned sense of humour. I pray to Crowley every day for another collaboration from Gaiman/Pratchett. If you don't like this book may the hamster from Hell come a visiting.
Rating: Summary: I absolutely loved this book! Review: This book contains a lot of dry or hidden humor, but it still finds a way to smack you right in the face. It is very well written, and I love how ironic it is.
Rating: Summary: Rollicking good read! Review: Let this book stand on its own, I say! Many other commentators have compared it to other authors in the genre. Pfaugh! If you like British humor combined with a wry sense of the inexplicable you will enjoy this book.
Rating: Summary: One of the funniest books I've ever read! Review: ...but only if you like intelligent British humor. Full of "Britishisms," I highly recommend Good Omens. If you like Douglas Adams, you'll probably like this book. It's witty, full of well-formed ideas and characters, and thoroughly entertaining!
Rating: Summary: This is the funniest book I have read in years! Review: This book is very funny, as you might expect from a team of Terry Pratchett and a member of the Monty Python cast. I loved it, I lent it to several people and they loved it. This book is a masterpiece of comedy. Everyone should read it.
Rating: Summary: Great for some people Review: I really liked this book, though I rather prefer Adams and Pratchett more on their own. However, they are my favorite authors (they're both british, how odd) and I was amazed to find they'd written a book together. The book is quite funny, but obviously, as some people have noted, it's not for everyone. In this book I think Pratchett's style comes across a little more than Gaiman's, though. Terry Pratchett is like Douglas Adams, only more Fantasy-based, and personally I think he's better. There are indeed large chunks of pointless blather--but while some people find them boring, I found them quite entertaining. so, obviously, while this is a very good book, it's not for the masses.
Rating: Summary: WOW!!! Review: This was one of the best (read: funniest) books I have ever read! It was a riot. Don't even compare it to hitch-hikers guide......(blah blah blah) Anyways, it was awesome. If I have one complaint it's the ending, but I can deal with that. The best part was the "other" four horsemen. It was amazing. It was really good. Really, really good. I mean it! You're hurting yourself if you don't read this.
Rating: Summary: Just another five star review Review: Yes, this book is wonderful - read it, you'll see what all the fuss is about.
Rating: Summary: Almost like pulling teeth, although not quite as enjoyable. Review: I actually purchased this book by reading the online reviews on Amazon, I should have heeded the warnings about boredom. This book is a mish mash, hodge podge, and any other cliche you care to throw in there. The authors struggle to emulate the Adam's humor but only succeed in wasting the readers time. Overly verbose and dry, I found myself skipping long chunks of dialogue just to get to the ending.
