Summary: Good Omens
Review: I picked up this book after one of my friends recommended Gaiman to me--I had never heard of this guy before.

All I have to say is WOW. For one of the few times in my life, I was finding myself reading during the afternoon (usually, I read at night before bed). I was finding myself WANTING to read this book. And, I was finding myself looking forward to the next time I could pick this book up.

This is one of the, if not THE, funniest book I have ever read. Neil and Pratchett keep the book moving with multiple plots that all come crashing together at the end (Kind of like an episode of Seinfeld).

I will be picking up more books by this talented man.

Summary: My All-Time Favorite Novel
Review: This book is hilarious and funny at the same time. It laughs in the face of religion and humanity. It's great. It has Pratchett's obvious style, I don't know what this guy Gaymann had to do with it. But that doesn't matter, the book is fantastic. They should make a movie out of it.

The ending is very surprising.

Summary: Wickedly Funny
Review: This may not be the best book I've ever read but it certainly is the funniest. I rarely read novels a second time, let alone more than that, but with the authors making so much fun of everything, I'd never have been able to catch it all with just one reading. They take pokes at everything, from fad diets to computer warranties to the self-righteous. Pratchett and Gaiman are an inspired duo, sort of like a really warped version of Fred and Ginger. The characters are terrific, and howling funny, and who hasn't suspected there may be angels and demons like Aziraphale and Crowley, perfect English gentlemen that they are, helpfully bollixing things up? If you don't 'get' English humour, or the irreverent, crazy, strange, sardonic, or ridiculous, give it a pass. (By the way, even though I love this book, I've never been able to finish a Douglas Adams one, and I'm not sure what that means.)

Summary: Does for religion what Douglas Adams did for sci-fi
Review: In the manner of laid-back british sarcasm, which so often makes for pleasant reading, it's easy for an author to overdo it and force the language into Douglas-Adamsesque epithets. (eg Starship Titanic) Luckily, Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchet have not let anyone down here. Good Omens for me, does for religion what Douglas Adams did for sci-fi with "The Hitchhiker's Guide...". Not only is it clever, zany and just witty enough, but the author's paint a pleasant story with wonderful characters as well. DEFINITELY RECOMMENDED if you're a fan of Douglas Adams. (or any other British humour for that matter -- Red Dwarf works just as well)

Summary: A Voice of Dissent
Review: The vast majority of people who read this book seem to absolutely love it. In fact, it was after several ranting reviews that I finally picked it up. If you're a diehard Pratchett or Gaiman fan, you'll very likely love it.

However, for the rest of us, this is really not all it's cracked up to be. The characters are thin and one dimensional. A good lot of the jokes fall flat on their faces. The world's logic is extremely inconsistant within it's own scope. We all know that it's supposed to be absurd and rediculous from time to time -- and sometimes it does so well. Too many others, and it does so a bit too poorly.

The most entertaining bits seem to involve the vast and frequent footnotes.

All in all, if you're looking for a a classic Brit Humor tale about an eleven year old Antichrist, this book is for you. If this sort of thing isn't your cup of tea, ignore your friends and co-workers and move on.

Summary: A comedy of errors? Perhaps...
Review: This book keeps you on your toes, when you're not on the floor laughing.

Demons and Angels partnering up, the end of the world, the Four Horsemen, and a peculiar book of prophecy combines with Pratchett and Gaiman's talent of writing to create a book you just won't want to put down. I loved it!

Summary: A darkly whimsical journey through last days of the world.
Review: I love the combination of these two wonderful authors. The comedical characters bring everything to life. i'm in the middle of reading this book again and it's not tireing to read again. It's an amazing adventure through the lives of an Antichrist, an Angel, a Demon, a satanic nun, and a witchfinder and witch. It's such a humorous look at the end of the world. No one should be afraid if this is the way it's going to go! Everyone should read it. I was laughing out loud. It was wonderful

Summary: A wonderful, funny book
Review: I love Terry Pratchett. And I love Neil Gaiman. I hadn't imagined them together - until I read Good Omens. It's a fabulous, funny book, with great characters (I want to be Crowley when I grow up). It also has a message, if you're willing to look for it.

However, it may not be for the very religious or those who can't take their views with some humor.

Still, it's one of my favorite books and I've read it numerous times. It still cracks me up every time.

Summary: Everyone should have one!
Review: I have been reading this novel during bustrips to my work every morning, and at the end I was know by busdrivers as the girl who laughed all the time. I think I got on their nerves :) I am now going to buy about 25 copies and give them to the people that I knwo, really EVERYONE should have one. I like the useual Terry Pratchett stuff, but not too much, as it's a little too light and happy for my taste. But THIS is the perfect combination between Mr. Pratchetts wonderful sense of humour and Mr. Gaimans delicious dark style. It's great, and I definitely want to marry Crowley!

Summary: Exceeding Funny in its own Little Twisted Little Way
Review: I would not reccomend this book to everyone. If you're easily offended if someone tweaks a belief or two of yours, or if your humor isn't at least a tiny little bit twisted, this book may not be for you.

Otherwise, however, this is truly a Gem. The theory behind the story is that the Antichrist was, rather unfortunately, switched at birth with some other baby, and so he's spent his life growing up with a family instead of with Angels and Devils fighting for his attention. When the time for Armageddon comes around, he is, needless to say, not ready and not quite willing either. Add to this a cast of hilarious side characters (the 4 motorcyclists of the apocalypse, the angel/part time rare book dealer, Agnes Nutter (witch/prophetess extraordinaire), and Pulsifier Newton (witchfinder private) to name a few), and you're got yourself a story that will cause people to stare at you strangely when you suddenly burst out laughing in a public area. I heartily reccomend this book to anyone who's willing to try it.
