Review: This book was awesome, I can't even begin to describe it. I can relate to Ender and Valentine, and I fell madly in love with Ender. This book isn't run-of-the-mill scifi, it's better than any new book on the shelf. The sequels are good, you really feel like you are there, watching this genious little boy grow up, hating what he doesn't know he's doing.

Review: I loved this book. The moment I got it, I didn't stop reading till I finished. I bought it about a year ago, and it is my most-read book (about 15 times!). But, if you liked this book, you might be let down by Speaker for the Dead, Xenocide, and Children of the Mind (well, actually i really liked children of the mind.). They all have a different style of writing than Ender's Game. Ender's Game was one of the first (okay, THE first) science fiction novel i read, and now I'm hooked.

Summary: First book in years to put me awe!
Review: Normally when I read a book I will like it for one of two reasons. 1) Great Plot. 2) Great themes, messages, characters, etc.. Until last week I had never found a book to do both. Ender's Game was the first. I found it completely facitinating, disturbing, Shocking, and in the end satisfying. Since I finished reading, I have recommended this book to all of my friends.

Summary: A must read for anyone, not just sci-fi fans.
Review: Ender's Game is one of the most entrancing books I have ever read. It capture's the imagination and carries you away. It deserves all 10 stars. However, OSC's follow-ups to this novel left me feeling utterly depressed as they were in no way able to measure up to the story, or the writing, exhibited in Ender's Game. In my opinion, don't bother reading any of the other books of the series, just re-read Ender's Game.

Review: This was the best book I have ever read. I got so caught up in the book I read again as soon as I had finished. This one is a must read for sure - even for anyone who doesn't like science-fiction.

Summary: Great suspense but ...
Review: This book was a great page turner that definitely kept my interest. I enjoyed the psychological view of Ender's progression thru training. Some of the other characters seemed rather one-dimensional and needed further development. Though the plot was for the most part fast paced and maintained my interest at times details that seemed relatively important were skipped entirely. I felt like the post battle parts were a rush to finish a late assignment in the alloted number of pages. They amounted to what seems like a rough outline for a sequel.

Review: I've been reading through the reviews and have to say if you gave this book less than four stars your mentally insane or haven't read any books or have read way to many books. I first read Ender's game at 9, that's right fourth grade, and probably liked it most because i could relate to the charachters. Since then i've reread at least four times and each time my opinion changed. Finally i realized that the book is really about how cruel society will be to pursue its goals. I have to admit at times Card is preaching, especially in the added parts for the novel, but pretty much there's no babbling.

I have read several reviews in which Ender's game is compared to Dune and other SF greats. Sure you can say that Dune had a better message or the like but Ender's game is completely different, its like comparing apples to oranges!

Finally for those of you saying that the idea of a six year old saving the world need to get a grip. This is SF not real life, its not supposed to be totally realistic that's why you read this stuff, to get away from reality. Besides Ender was 13 or 14 when he did it and there are prodigies such as this around the world today. Card also hints at Genetic engineering to get to this end. Anyways without Ender being a six year old Card would have been copying Starship Troopers.

There is no best SF book, you would be ignorant to classify a book as such but Ender's game ranks in the top fifty or twenty-five for sure.

Summary: In my opinion, the best book ever written in any genre
Review: When I first recieved this book for a gift, I was reluctant to read it because I wasn't into sci-fi. After finishing it, I immediately began searching for the sequels. Ender is the most likable character I have had the pleasure to read about, and the way he handles his many tough situations should be a model for anyone. I recommend this book to anyone who can read.

Summary: Can I make it 6 stars?
Review: Well, for one thing there was more than 1 girl in it (count 'em, there's four). And for SF that's enough praise to give Ender's Game more than the 5 stars allotted. Also what happens is what would happen in that universe (Ender's not the perfect shot and the perfect strategist in the beginning.) The hero has faults like everyone, and the bad guys are never who they seem! Also I want to say that he did an absolutely awesome job representing kids--he wrote like kids would think and act in that situation, not like adults THINK they would act! (I'm a teenager) Verdict: If you don't want to read this book get a life!

Review: An excellent book - well written and zippy with nice character development and an interesting plot twist. Some in my book group thought the main characters unbelievable because their skill and age levels were incompatible; science fiction does require some imagination. I would have given Ender's Game all the stars if i hadn't seen the conclusion coming. Perhaps i was receiving telepathic signals from another civilization...
